Susan Jane Light, 59, fondly known to all who loved her as Suzie, entered into eternal joy on October 18, 2021, at the Renova Center in Lebanon.
Suzie was born on Saturday, March 17, 1962, to Hilda Wolfe Light and Wilmer R. Light in Lebanon. Suzie was warm and caring and loved life. She was a lifelong member of the Suedberg Church of God and a friend of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jonestown.
Suzie had a flair for fashion and was proud of her handbag collection. She enjoyed traveling and visited all of the continental United States, many Canadian provinces, Singapore, and Malaysia. Suzie loved music, concerts, plays, making latch hook rugs, and Penn State football. She was a gourmet and was fond of trying new restaurants and new flavors. Suzie participated in the Special Olympics and proudly worked at the Lebanon County Workshop and Quest until her retirement.
Suzie is survived by her sister, Maryann, and brother-in-law, Joel Guldin; and her brother, Joseph, and brother-in-law, James Kershner. She was very proud of her nieces and nephews Joanna Guldin and John Noll, Rachel Guldin, and Rebecca Guldin and Samuel Cove. She is also survived by aunt Nancy Wolfe, uncle Ken and aunt Sandy Wolfe, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda, and father, Wilmer; her uncle, Walter Wolfe; and aunt, Arlene Walters, and uncle, Donald Walters.
In respect of the health and safety of all, guests to the funeral should be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, should wear a mask at the church, and follow social distancing protocols. If this is not possible, we invite guests to pay their respects remotely.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 103 E. Market St., Jonestown. The funeral service will immediately follow in the church sanctuary. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ‘Renova Center Gift Account’. Donations will be used strictly for the residents and should be sent by check to 25 Metro Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042. The Renova Center is an intermediate care facility that provides a home-like atmosphere with 24-hour services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. These services include medical care, social services, recreation, physical, occupational, speech and music therapies. Renova’s goal is to encourage and help each individual to achieve the fullest potential of his or her mental, physical and social abilities.
