It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Lengel, beloved wife, mother, nan-nan, sister, and aunt. She peacefully left us on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her home in Jonestown. She was the wife of Timothy F. Lengel. On March 18, they would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.
Born in Harrisburg on Sept. 18, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Ruby Tibbens Mabry. Susan retired in 2015 from Hershey Foods, where she worked in Accounts Payable.
Her true joy came from the time she spent with her family. As a devoted nan-nan, awesome mother, cherished sister, and fantastic aunt, she created lifelong memories with them that they will carry forever. Susan had a deep love for spending time at the beach alongside her loving husband, listening to the relaxing waves and taking in the sun’s warm rays.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Timothy S. Lengel, and his significant other, Beth Lease, of Harrisburg; daughter, Jenna E., and her husband, Orlando Rivera, of Myerstown; grandchildren, Orlando Cole, Xavier James, and Lincoln Edward; sisters, Debbie Mabry, of Linglestown, and June, wife of Hans Koster, of Greensboro, NC; in-laws, Paul and Carol Lengel, of Myerstown, Steven (Charlene Smith) Lengel, of Lithia, FL, and Cindy Lengel, of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tom Lengel.
Susan’s kind and nurturing spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was a woman of warmth, laughter, and love, always putting her family first and bringing people together. Her presence will be tremendously missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A celebration of her life with family and friends will be held at a later time and date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter to honor Susan’s love for pets.
