Teresina “Tessie” Elizabeth Ondrusek, 100, of Myerstown, died Monday, October 4, 2021, at her residence.
Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Saturno and Antonina (Pulciani) Ranaldi. Tessie was the wife of Frank Andrew Ondrusek, who died March 25, 1984. She was previously married to Kenneth “Bud” Hippert of Newmanstown, Pennsylvania, who was killed in action in Germany during World War II. Tessie was a member of the Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Myerstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Women’s Club of Myerstown, Myerstown Senior Center, and Gold Star Wives of America. Tessie enjoyed crafts, reading, and crocheting.
Tessie is survived by daughters, Lynnette, wife of William Novak, of Myerstown, Lisa, wife of Daryl Layser, of Myerstown; six grandchildren, Chris Novak, Andrea Novak, partner of Mark Gaiski, Victoria Layser, wife of Andrew Takoch, Myranda Layser, wife of Matthew Stachewicz, Rebecca Layser, partner of Austin Weiss, and Zixin Lu; three great-grandchildren, Angelina Novak, Ian Novak, and Finn Layser Takoch, who always greeted his nanny with a warm handshake; and one great-great-grandchild, Averi Keramidas. Tessie was preceded in death by brothers, Pat, Alex, Rocky, and Americus Ranaldi and a sister, Ada Salem.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
