Theodore F. “Ted” Batdorff, 91, of Palmyra, died on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Carol H. (Hollinger) Batdorff, to whom he was married for 70 years on March 12, 2025.
Born in Kenhurst, PA, on Dec. 8, 1933, Ted was a son of the late Theodore F. and Helen S. (Wagner) Batdorff. A member of Myerstown UCC, he served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an HVAC mechanic at Bayer Corp., Myerstown, retiring after 32 years of employment. He was a charter member of the Myerstown Jaycees and enjoyed biking and skiing, as well as traveling, family time, and spoiling his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by his daughter, Suzanne, wife of William Upton, of Quentin; grandchildren, Morgan Rhoades, wife of Steven, of Manchester, PA, and Matthew Berger; and great-grandson, Carter Rhoades, of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Laudenslager, Dorothy Falck, and Fern Patrick.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Final services are private at the convenience of the family.
