Theodore I. “Ted” Brownagle, 81, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Kathleen A. “Kathi” (Walling) Brownagle, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage on Sept. 20, 2023.

Ted was born in Harrisburg on May 3, 1942, to the late Irvin A. and Chita (Humphreys) Brownagle.

He graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 1961. Ted was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, served in the Military Police, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Pistol Marksman, and Pistol .45 Sharpshooter. He worked as a laborer for the Lebanon Cable Company, was a van driver for Lebanon County, and worked for Jones Motors Freight. Ted loved the Lord and attended Calvary Church of Lebanon for many years. Calvary Church supported Ted in his studies at the Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, PA, where he received a Certificate in Ministry in 1992. He was the pastor of Judah Christian Fellowship in Cleona, PA, for 10 years. Ted enjoyed pencil sketching in his spare time. He played the saxophone and was a drummer in a band.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Anne Richardson; and his nephews, David and John Richardson.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Christ Community Church, 121 S. College St., Myerstown, PA. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Refreshments will be available after the service. Ted will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
