Verdie M. Gassert, 93, of Lebanon, PA, died on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of Gilbert J. Gassert, who died on Oct. 9, 1993.
Born in Tulpehocken Township, PA, on June 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Mary (Smith) Shaak. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time outside.
Verdie is survived by her daughter, Debra Gassert, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Eric, husband of Amber Gassert, of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Gassert; son, Alan Gassert; sister, Helen Eisenhower; and brothers, Lester, Norman, and Luther Shaak.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Salem Reformed Cemetery, Bethel, PA.
