Violet V. “Wink” Achey, 95, returned home to the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at Cedar Haven in Lebanon.

She was born on Sunday, Jan. 29, 1928, to the late Martin L. Smith and Ella M. Aungst Smith in Hershey.

Violet was a true believer in God and dedicated her life to educating and nurturing the youth of her congregation. She was a Sunday school instructor at the Open Door Baptist Church for 50 years and helped grow the love of Christ in all the children she taught. Violet loved spending time with her family, especially attending family dinners and birthday parties. She also loved cats and rescued many during her life to offer them a warm, loving home.

Violet is survived by her siblings, Betty Heilman, Jacqueline Fischer, Marilyn Schauer, Naomi Clemens, and Leroy Smith; niece, Wendy Steiner, and her husband, Edward; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Randall L. Achey; and siblings, Mary Rutter, Martin L. Smith Jr., and Alden F. Smith.

Services will be held at Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023. The viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Grand View Memorial Park in Annville following the service.
