Virginia L. Yingst, 71, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020. Born in Lebanon on March 29, 1948, she was the daughter of Ruth (Erdman) Yingst and the late Eugene R. Yingst.
Virginia was active in various fitness and training circles and served as a board member for the Halcyon Activity Center in Lebanon. She became part of a running community, completing countless 5K’s and, most recently, her very first half marathon in October of 2019 at the age of 71. Virginia loved to cook and had lots of friends. She was fond of all the family pets, especially “Archie”, who she lovingly referred to as her surrogate caretaker and third nephew. Family was important to Virginia. She loved each one of them with all her heart and was always so proud of the accomplishments of her nieces, nephews and their children. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her mother, Virginia is survived by a sister, Joan Y. Breidenstine and her husband, Paul, of Reading, PA; her niece, Adrienne B. Breidenstine and her husband, Gregory Care of Howard County, MD; two nephews – Kyle J. Breidenstine and his wife, Jessica of Newton, MA, and Christopher Breidenstine and his wife, Tara, of Berks County; two great nephews – Finley and Michael; a great niece, Lillian Breidenstine
Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia’s name may be made to the Halcyon Activity Center, 720 Walnut Street, Lebanon, PA 17042 or The Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC), 615 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.
