Wayne Herbert Bond, 99, of Lebanon, PA, entered into the open arms of his Savior on Jan. 30, 2026, at Kindred Place, Annville.
Born in Upper Tulpehocken Township, PA, on May 24, 1926, he was a son of the late Herbert and Mary (Schucker) Bond. A 1944 graduate of Penn-Bernville High School, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Wayne was a longtime machinist at Kercher Machine Works, Lebanon. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent, deacon, and sang in the choir along with numerous men’s groups. Later, he attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church and was a current member of Faith Baptist Church of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lillian (Stump) Bond, and daughter, Donna. He is survived by his daughter, Monica, wife of Neil Rhen, of Lebanon; son-in-law, Lee Keener, of Womelsdorf; sister, Myrle Schlappich, of Bernville; brother, Richard Bond, husband of Barbara, of Bernville; grandchildren, Steven Keener, husband of Terry, of Bainbridge, Seth Keener, of Mechanicsburg, Nathaniel Rhen, husband of Jessica, of Lebanon, Janelle Rhen, of Palmyra, Melissa, wife of Tyler Hayle, of Mountain Top, and Derek Rhen, husband of Keshia, of Richland; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Fritz and Anna Mae Speicher; and brothers, Leroy, Arlan, and Earl.
Private burial at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, PA. A memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 220 S. 22nd St., Lebanon, PA 17042, at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church “Memorial Fund” at the above-stated address.
