William A. “Bill” Dissinger, 86, died on June 9, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Sandra Leinthall Dissinger, with whom he was married. In addition to Sandra, he leaves a son, Paul, of Myerstown.

Born in Lebanon on Jan. 20, 1939, Bill was the son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy Dissinger. He had a brother, Donald, and a sister, Dawn. He was preceded by the passing of his brothers, Jack and Benjamin.

Bill served three years in the U.S. Army, of which 30 1/2 months were at Toul Engineering Depot, France. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church, where he taught Sunday school and was active in the men’s fellowship.

Bill was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1956 and Lebanon Valley College in 1963. He earned a master’s degree from Temple University and Wilkes College. He was a school teacher for 41 1/2 years, of which 37 1/2 were at Cedar Crest High School. He coached baseball at Cedar Crest High School for 34 years, where he had 510 wins and a winning percentage of .730. He was a member of the Lebanon County Education Association, PASR, and the Lebanon County Educational Honor Society. He was inducted into the Lebanon Valley Sports Hall of Fame and Central PA Hall of Fame in 2003. He also worked at South Hills Park. He liked to read and was a big sports enthusiast.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
