William D. Bailey Jr., 86, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy “Jean” (Dunlap) Bailey.

Born in Lebanon, PA, on March 21, 1938, he was the son of the late William D. Bailey Sr. and the late Henrietta O. (Zehring) Bailey.

William was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church and a member of Zion of Iona United Methodist Church, where he volunteered on numerous committees. He enjoyed model trains, RC planes, computer sciences, spending time with friends and family, and traveling in his RV with the Balognians Camping Group. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Elizabeth A. Rothermel, wife of David, of Lebanon, and Susan S. Agee, wife of Charles, of Lebanon; brother, Michael S. Bailey, husband of Natalie, of New York; grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Samuel, and Benjamin Rothermel; and sister-in-law, Rachel Noll.

William was preceded in death by his son, John W. Bailey; and brother, Daniel T. Bailey.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Zion of Iona United Methodist Church, 1920 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042. Inurnment will be held in Iona United Methodist Cemetery, Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center, 87 Old Mine Road, Lebanon, PA 17042, in his memory.
