William F. Schalk, Jr., 93, of Annville, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Friday, October 14, 2022. He was the husband of the late Anna E. (Smoker) Schalk, to whom he was married 43 years at the time of her death in 2003.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William F. Schalk, Sr. and Elizabeth (Baker) Schalk.
William was a truck driver with Hess Trucking in Harrisburg for 27 years before his retirement. He attended Penn Manor High School and worshipped at Manheim Grace Brethren Church when he could. Bill collected Winross trucks and baseball caps, loved antique cars, and attended car shows when able. He also enjoyed classic country music and southern gospel music and liked to “spot” cardinals. But, above all, he loved his family and followed the Lord.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth A. Schalk of Lancaster and Jeannine M., wife of Douglas Gates of Lebanon; one grandson Andrew W. Gates and one sister Barbara, wife of Ken Milhouse of Lancaster.
William was preceded in death by three sons Timothy M. Schalk, William F. Schalk, III, and John D. Schalk.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 7 PM from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville, with his grandson Andrew W. Gates officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 5 PM until the time of his service at the funeral home.
