William J. Dasher Jr, 83, formerly of Lebanon, gained his angel wings on August 11, 2021, at Frey Village, Middletown.

Born on April 29, 1938, he was the son of the late William Dasher Sr. and Cora (Keath) Dasher of Lebanon. Bill graduated from Lebanon High School in 1956 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his time on the USS Intrepid. After returning from the Navy, Bill worked for and retired from Wilsbach Distributor in Harrisburg.

He enjoyed his retirement by being active in many of the musicals at the Lebanon Community Theater and working part-time at Hershey Chocolate World. Bill was known for being very social and active; he loved to entertain, be with people, sing and eat.  He enjoyed an occasional Manhattan and was an avid winemaker.  Backyard BBQ’s and being with family were a favorite pastime of Bill’s.  He was a very kind, loving, simple, gentle, and fun-loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his former wife, Orvilla (Myers) Dasher of Lebanon.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Maxine (Santarelli) Dasher, of Harrisburg, three children; Kim Snyder and husband Keith, of Delaware, Jami Rothgaber, of Lebanon, Jim Dasher and wife Barbara, of Myerstown, six grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Thompson Funeral Home, 126 South 9th Street, Lebanon at 11:00 a.m.  A viewing will be held one hour prior and burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery following the service.

Bill’s family would like to thank the staff at Frey Village, particularly Helen Gutshall, RN for her attentiveness and compassion over the past 3 years.
