William M. “Bill” Rutter Jr., 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He was the husband of Grace P. Westhafer Rutter. On Aug. 28, they would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.
Born in East Hanover Township on June 5, 1934, he was the son of the late William M. and Alice E. Hoover Rutter.
Bill worked for the W.L. Kreider Shoe Co. and Double H Boots. He attended the Lebanon Gospel Center. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, fishing, and doing word searches. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lori K., wife of David Ulrich, of Annville, and Cindy L., wife of Scott Dechert, of Lebanon; sister, Kay Strickler, of Lebanon; four grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Ray, Larry, Donald, and Jay Rutter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Grantville Cemetery.
