William Michael Henry, known to his friends and loved ones as Mike, passed away on Sept. 4, 2023.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1948.
Mike graduated from the 1966 class of Cedar Crest High School and DeVry University. He had a fulfilling career at Buell/General Electric/Marsulex, beginning in the field service department and transitioning to an estimator, where he traveled both nationally and internationally. He also enjoyed a second career working for Steckbeck Engineering.
An active member of the community, Mike attended Zion United Methodist Church of Iona regularly and dedicated his time and energy to various church activities. He was available to help anytime to open the church, usher, make coffee, and help in the kitchen. He also served on the finance committee and helped with cemetery management. Mike also volunteered at LCCM (Lebanon County Christian Ministries) for the noon meal program.
One of Mike’s cherished rituals was having morning coffee at Mel’s Diner with his friends. This gathering became a special time for them to share stories and laughter. Mike truly valued his connections with the local guys. Additionally, his dear card club friends were another source of comradery and lifelong friendship. Traveling with his wife, Beverly, brought immense joy to Mike’s life.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly A. Henry nee Bomberger; his daughters, Karen Henry and Michelle Nyamekye, and her spouse, Archibald; his grandchildren, Archie Nyameyke II, Azaria Nyamekye, and Quinton Nyamekye; his siblings, Brian Henry, Susan Felock, and her spouse, James, and Kent Henry, and his spouse, Maria; his brother-in-law, Richard Bomberger, and his spouse, Diane; his sister-in-law, Sharon Greene, and her spouse, Russ; his nieces, Marcia Murray and Jodie Bowers; his nephew, Tim Greene; and family dogs, Chester and Blaze.
A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at Zion United Methodist Church of Iona, 1920 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon, PA, on Sept. 9, 2023, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. and the service to begin at 3 p.m.
