William R. Funk was the husband of Lois J. (Puglia) Funk, to whom he would have been married 61 years in Apr.

Born in Munhall, PA on Sept. 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Smith) Funk. A graduate of Munhall High School, William earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. William was employed as an electrical engineer at U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh, for many years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by sons, Karl, husband of Dee Hurst-Funk, of Myerstown, Greg Funk, of Pasadena, CA, grandson, Austin Funk, and sisters, Norma Jean and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lavere.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Services and inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
