Winifred “Winnie” Kapp Arnold, 78, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Richard K. Arnold, Jr., with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage in May 2022.

Born in Lebanon on August 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Vernal Benton and Violet (Peiffer) Kapp.

Winnie was a graduate of Millersville University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1966 and a Master’s Degree in 1974. She taught sixth grade for the Cornwall-Lebanon School District in the late ’60s. Later in life, she worked part-time for the Hershey Public Library in the Reference Dept. Winnie also attended Evangelical Theological Seminary, Myerstown, where she audited classes in both the Old and New Testaments. Winnie worshipped at Calvary Chapel, Lebanon. She was a praying wife, mother, and grandmother and prayed for many that she did not even personally know.

Winnie, a naturalist, and an outdoor enthusiast, was always happy spending time in nature. She enjoyed golfing, biking, walking, and swimming in the ocean with her family. She lived a minimalist life, preferring to be simple and all-natural. She also took pleasure in traveling and especially enjoyed her three-week study tour to Israel, Egypt, and Jordan with her husband and church family. Winnie was a romantic optimist, always enjoying life and thankful for the journey that God had given to her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved sons: David K. (Vickie) of Elizabethtown, Gregory C. (Janna) of Dubuque, IA, and Jonathan C. (Jessica) of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren Brittany (Ryan) Dolan, Courtney (Alex) Santiago, Andrew (Dana), Stephanie, Shane, Jaden, Joshua, and Jordan; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Brenda (Barry) Kerlin of Mechanicsburg, Karen (Dennis) Boehmer of Fredericksburg, and Audrey (Wilson) Estevez of Lebanon; and brother Dana (Beth) Kapp of Lebanon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral. Interment will follow at Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery, Ebenezer.
