Zachary Jay Long, 26, of Annville, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Born in Lebanon on Jan. 4, 1999, he was the son of Jay K. and Pamela J. (Hunt) Long. He was a graduate of the Annville-Cleona High School, class of 2018. Zach played a number of sports growing up, including swimming for the Lebanon Valley Otters, baseball, football, karate, wrestling, and golf.
Zach was a hard worker; during high school, he worked two jobs at Weber Sawmill and Mark Hershey Feeds. Zach went to Lebanon CTC to become an electrician, and he started out as an electrician with the Heim Company in Harrisburg. Zach was currently working as an industrial electrician for Local IBEW 143. Zach took great pride in his work and enjoyed talking about his latest project.
Zach was a creative man of many talents and interests. He loved making people laugh and playing games with his family and friends. He enjoyed photography, riding motorcycles, fly fishing, hunting, golfing, drawing, and creating things. He enjoyed shooting, made better when it was with friends. He also enjoyed having meals with his friends and taking his parents out to try new places to eat. He loved life and the people who were a part of it. Zach was a kind, thoughtful, generous, caring, and compassionate man who loved people well.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Sarah J. (Long) Darok, wife of Matthew C. Darok, of Annville, and Kayla N. (Long) Bomgardner, wife of Dylan J. Bomgardner, of Annville; nephew, Asher J. Darok; maternal grandmother, Dottie M. Hunt, of Lebanon; and he loved and was very close to his large extended family.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon. There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the church and from 10-11 a.m. before the service on Friday. Interment will follow the service at Moonshine United Zion Church.
After Zachary Jay is laid to rest, the family will return to Lebanon Valley Bible Church for a celebration of who Zach was. The family very much desires for all who knew and loved Zach to join them as they play games, look at pictures, eat some good food, and tell stories of his amazing life and beautiful soul.
Please feel free to wear something Zach would have liked. The family suggests casual attire, even a Carhartt shirt/sweatshirt.
