Dr. Calvin ‘Doc’ Clements, Democratic Nominee for the 48th Senate District is announcing today an official pledge to enact legislation that will rollback and cancel all planned raises for the General Assembly. “Taking these raises for a job that paid $90,000 a year plus benefits during hard economic times is just absolutely outrageous,” says Clements.
In addition, Dr. Clements is announcing his intentions to not to take health benefits or a pension, if elected. “If elected this job is about what I can do for the voter not what the voters can do for me“
Dr. Clements invites his opponent Chris Gebhard to join him in making these pledges to the voters of the 48th District. However, for that to happen Mr. Gebhard would have to engage the voters of his district. Clements concluded, “I welcome the opportunity to debate my opponent about these issues and others facing the voters of the 48th.”
