Compass Mark, a non-profit addiction prevention organization, will be hosting the annual Positive Change Virtual Conference on March 22-23, 2023. This yearly event is a collaboration between Compass Mark, Millersville University, and the Lancaster County Drug & Alcohol Commission. The conference focuses on evidence-based public health programs and practices that directly relate to addiction and mental health prevention, treatment and recovery.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Rebuilding Connection: Creating Resilience” and will feature specialized learning tracks for Schools/Student Assistance Programs, Treatment/Recovery, and Prevention. The event will open with keynote addresses from Dr. Dana Milakovic from the PA Department of Education on the topic “Building Resilience Through Connection” and Diane Wagenhals, M.Ed., from Lakeside Global Institute on “The Power of Nurture.”
Educators, criminal justice professionals, and social service providers interact every day with students or clients who have difficulty with substance use, gambling, or mental health symptoms. This conference is designed to provide practical tools and encouragement for those working in these helping professions and equip them to guide our community toward improved health and resilience.
The Positive Change Conference runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day and up to six (6) CEUs are available. Early registrants will also receive a snack box in the mail with a sampling of local treats. Registration and more information is available at www.compassmark.org or by calling 717-299-2831.
