Each day throughout Lebanon County, nonprofit organizations are mobilizing scarce resources for a great impact. Feeding hungry families, holding hands during difficult times, giving care to children and adults, and making our communities safer and healthier. Year after year, our nonprofit organizations and the superheroes who power them find ways to do more with less. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and our superhero nonprofits rose to the occasion all year long. These organizations made changes to their service models, responded to increased demand for services and support, and updated their technology to increase access during quarantine.
On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, the Lebanon Community has an opportunity to thank these superhero nonprofits. On this date 20 local, Lebanon nonprofits will launch the 4th annual giving event that will last until the end of the year, and help them to make a difference. Last year, this group exceeded their goal of raising $20,000 by 2020 by nearly $5,000!
This year, the Lebanon Gives event calls on our community to pool our resources for collective change. These nonprofit organizations are counting on the generosity of the community to raise $40,000 by the end of the year. Together, we can do more than we ever could apart.
A number of organizations and individuals in the community have already supported #LebanonGives by sponsoring the event. Through the support of LebTown, FT Heilman, Don & Nancy Smith, Lebanon Federal Credit Union, Tim McShane Allstate Insurance Agency, Time to Think, LLC., Ronald Ensminger Insurance Agency, Garcia, Garman, & Shea, Seibert & Associates, LLC, KIT Communications, Sue Blouch, Robert Eby, First Citizens Community Bank, Greys and Strays LLC., Hershey Palmyra Sertoma Club, and the Rotary Club of Lebanon, we have already raised $4,000.
The Lebanon Gives event will be primarily virtual. You can follow the Lebanon Gives Facebook Page, donate through lebanongives.org, or donate through the United Way’s text-to-give platform. At any time until the end of the year, community members can text “Lebanon” to 91999 or follow the link to the online giving form. Community members can track the progress live through an online thermometer which shows you the real time measure of how much #LebanonGives has raised.
Community members may also visit the #LebanonGives vendor booth at the Lebanon Farmers Market on two Saturdays during the holiday season: Saturday November 21 and Saturday November 28. The #LebanonGives nonprofits will host a basket raffle at the market, with prizes drawn on December 1 – just in time for last minute gifting for the holiday season. Participants can purchase 15 raffle chances for $10 during regular market hours.
The 20 organizations involved in #LebanonGives include: Compeer, Developmental & Disability Services (DDS), Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI), Friends of Coleman Memorial, Habitat for Humanity, Halcyon, Jubilee, Kenbrook, LCCM, Lebanon Family Health Services, Lebanon Valley Conservancy, Lebanon Library, Making a Difference of Lebanon, PA, Quest, Lebanon Rescue Mission, RSVP, SARCC, Lebanon Valley Tennis Association, Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, and United Way of Lebanon County.
The goal of #LebanonGives is to rally our community to go over and above regular year-end giving. #LebanonGives is asking our community to go the extra mile by showing your love for Lebanon. We invite you to join our big giving event by donating, purchasing raffle tickets, or sending examples of the ways you give back to Lebanon to any of our participating nonprofit partners. Lebanon Gives launches on December 1, 2020 and carries through the end of the year. Be a superhero for 20 great causes and show how #LebanonGives.
