The Lebanon Community Library is excited to announce STEM In Action, a series of environmentally-focused STEM classes for children! The classes will be held the first Monday of each month at 6pm at the library. Classes are geared toward ages 6-10, but all ages are welcome, and no registration is required. Classes are provided at no cost.
Building on the success of STEM Explorers, a county-wide series of STEM education classes funded by The Dixon Foundation, STEM In Action brings back popular instructor Amy Davis. Ms. Davis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography-Environmental Studies, a Bachelor’s of Secondary Education-Social Studies, and Pennsylvania teaching certificates for Social Studies grades 6-12 and Library/Information Science grades K-12.
Class topics will be as follows:
- Oct. 7, 2019: TrashBot! Learn about all types of pollution in our world
- Nov. 4, 2019: I Don’t Believe My Eyes!: Invisible air pollution
- Dec. 2, 2019: Take a Tap Water Tour: Where does our tap water come from, what’s in it?
- Jan. 6, 2020: Waste Invaders: Where does our trash and dirty water go?
- Feb. 3, 2020: Wonders of a Watershed
- Mar. 2, 2020: Citizen of Science: How everyone can make a difference
- Apr. 6, 2020: To be announced
- May 4, 2020: To be announced
- Jun. 1, 2020: To be announced
