Cedar Crest grad Chad Ryland showed no yips last night in his first game as a walk-on kicker for Eastern Michigan in the team’s 51-17 win over Monmouth.

Wearing #38 for the Eagles, Ryland scored six extra points and a field goal for the team in the matchup held at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, MI.

Ranked as a five-star kicker and 24th in the nation for the class of 2018 by Kohl’s Kicking, he was a two-time all-county and all-league kicker for Cedar Crest. Ryland also played four years of varsity soccer and three years of varsity baseball.

Eastern Michigan posted this ESPN clip of the field goal.

Ryland had announced his decision last February.

Ryland will major in supply chain management.

Thanks to Steve Snyder whose tweet alerted us to the story. Congrats again to Ryland!
