If you missed the harvest fest in Schaefferstown earlier this month, worry not: You’ve got another chance to celebrate the autumn spirit. On October 13 from 10am to 3pm, the Friends of Coleman Park will be hosting the park’s 16th annual Harvest Fest.
Admission is free, but some activities and concessions will have nominal costs associated.
Held around the historic Carriage House, the event will include a hayride around the park ($1.50), hot dogs and drinks for purchase, pumpkin painting (pumpkins will be available for purchase), a candy scramble for kids, games, and sand art.
Attendees are invited to pack their own picnic lunch and/or pumpkins if they would prefer not purchasing them at the venue.
Scarecrows will not be part of the festivities this year, as they require more careful deconstruction and disposal than most are willing to do (it’s not as easy as throwing them into the trash).
The Friends of Coleman Memorial Park depend on donations and volunteers for much of their operations. Annual memberships begin as low as $25 and donations are always accepted.
After the Harvest Fest, attention and prepwork will turn towards the Lebanon Christkindl Market, scheduled to be held in the park on December 1.
