The Pennsylvania Auditor General will be conducting a performance audit of the Northern Lebanon School District, according to a report by the Lebanon Daily News (paywall).
Auditor General Eugene DePasquale sent a news release to the paper this afternoon. LebTown has not yet reviewed this release but we have requested it.
According to the Daily News article, the school district will be audited in the following areas:
- Financial stability
- School safety
- Governance
- Contract management and monitoring
- Administrator contract buyouts
- Bus driver qualifications
- Teacher and administrator certification
- Student transportation data collection and reporting
“My school district audits can help to reassure taxpayers and students that districts are spending scarce public funds efficiently and effectively,” said DePasquale in the release, according to the Daily News. “I want to ensure that every available dollar is going toward classroom education.”
We will update this post as more information becomes available.
