According to Met-Ed, about 400 residents are without power this morning as the area endures extremely high winds.
The National Weather Service in State College has a high wind warning in effect for Central Pennsylvania through 1pm today. Lebanon County Weather predicted on Facebook that the winds should begin to die down around 10am.
Met-Ed has approximately 59,000 customers in Lebanon County, so currently less than 1% of customers are affected.
By the number of customers affected, the outages are concentrated in East Hanover Township (119), North Londonderry Township (87), South Londonderry Township (60), Jackson Township (51), and Annville Township (50). By percentage, Richland Borough has the highest outage rate, at about 14%, or 4 out of about 30 customers.
Met-Ed hopes to have service restored to most customers by 4pm. According to Met-Ed’s service map, a crew has been dispatched already to Coffeetown (near Palmyra).
Over the Berks County line in Stouchsburg, between 500 and 1500 customers are affected by an outage caused by the inclement weather.
