Congratulations to the three Lebanon County natives who were named State Game Wardens in a graduation ceremony held late last month.

The 31st Class of the Pennsylvania Game commission’s Ross Leffler School of Conservation includes 27 new graduates. These men are now commissioned officers and have already been assigned to their new districts.

Here are the graduates from Lebanon County.

Anthony Ferreri, of Newmanstown (assigned to western Berks County)

Daniel Gibble, of Jonestown (assigned to southern Lancaster County)

Derek Spitler, of Cleona (assigned to southern Northumberland County)

The new wardens were also recognized late last month by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

According to the state, Game Commission Game Wardens are responsible for administering a wide variety of agency programs within an assigned district of about 350 square miles.

Primary duties include law enforcement, responding to wildlife conflicts, conservation education, and administration of the Hunter-Trapper Education program. Wardens also are responsible for supervising and training part-time Deputy Game Wardens.
