As part of the school’s academic achievement program, some Cedar Crest High School seniors now have the privilege to grab lunch off-campus.
Off-campus meals is a new incentive that has been offered for seniors with a blue or gray Renaissance card, according to Cornwall-Lebanon School District’s Community Relations Coordinator Amy Rose Wissinger.
Obtaining a gray Renaissance card requires a student be on the Principal’s List with a 3.4 GPA or higher. (The blue Renaissance card requires a GPA of at least 4.0.)
Because the perk comes with some special responsibilities, students are required to have valid parent permission slips, as well as having to return to the office to sign in prior to the start of the next period.
According to the Talon report, students have a couple very minor frustrations with the program, including unexpected traffic and a restriction on car-pooling, but on balance the program sounds like it’s been a hit.
Due to a concern from Cornwall-Lebanon School District, an earlier map showing possible dining locations has been removed from this post.
