The Woman’s Club of Lebanon held its April meeting earlier this month at the Mansion at Fifth and Cumberland Streets.

The speaker at the event was Sergeant First Class Morgan Flamm of the 3rd Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Flamm has helped operate large-scale events like the Pope’s visit to Philly and the Democratic National Convention in Philly.

At the event, a check for $10,000 was presented by the Memorial Educational and Historical Preservation Trust Fund of the Woman’s Club of Lebanon to the Lebanon Valley Education Partnership at Lebanon Valley College. That program encourages students from the City of Lebanon to stay local for their collegiate studies. Lebanon High School Senior Jada Calloway was recognized for her enrollment in the program starting this fall at LVC.

One additional scholarship for $1,500 was presented at the event for an LVC female scholarship, and another has also been presented to a nursing student at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center.

The group celebrated its 122nd anniversary last month. The next card social will be held May 2 at Juniper Village in Lebanon.
