In just under a month, Cumberland Street will be filled with the balloons, the sounds of marching bands, and of course, Santa Claus himself.
The Community of Lebanon Association, or CLA, will be holding its 43rd annual holiday parade on Nov. 23. The festivities start at 2:30 p.m. and the parade will travel along Cumberland Street between Lincoln Avenue and 9th Street.
The rain date for the parade is November 30.
This year’s parade marshal will be Major Kathleen Pearson Fabrizi who will lead a parade that will also feature appearances by the marching bands of Lebanon High School, Northern Lebanon High School, and Cedar Crest High School. Fabrizi is Executive Director of the Pennsylvania National Guard Association. Over a dozen bands in total will be participating, with organizers saying to expect some “surprises.”
Want to take part in the parade? There’s still time. Registration is open through next Friday, November 1, and pre-registration is required to participate.
The registration form can be found on the CLA’s website, or you can send an email to wrinkleboon@gmail.com or call (717) 273-7215 to have a form mailed to you.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for Best Float, Most Festive, Best Walking, Favorite Fire Apparatus, and Best In Dance.
