Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 12, 2020 at approximately 3:05 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the area of I 78 West at mile marker 7.2 for a report of a hit and run. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2011 Nissan Maxima, was stopped on the shoulder of I 78 West due to a flat tire. Unit 2 was then sideswiped by a tractor trailer with a red cab and a white trailer. No further information was provided.

Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2020 at 4:12 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2020 Ford F150XLT, driven by Operator 2, a 52 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 50 year old Lebanon man, was approaching a traffic light that was red and was slowing down in an attempt to come to a complete stop. Unit 1, a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Central Islip, NY man, approached the rear of Unit 2, subsequently striking the rear of Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to the front from striking Unit 2. Unit 2 sustained minor contact damage to the rear. Operator 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 was complaining of back pain and was examined by First Aid and Safety Patrol. Passenger 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by DE Richard.

Cornwall Borough

Drug Possession – David Byers, an 18 year old Landisville man, has been charged with Possession of Marijuana for an incident on June 27, 2020 at 5:56 p.m., at Miners Lake Quarry off of Burd Coleman Rd.

Harassment – A 22 year old Millersville woman has been cited for an incident on July 4, 2020 at 3:07 p.m. on Pine St., involving another female.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2020 at 3:02 p.m., this three-vehicle reportable crash occurred on I 81 North at mile marker 82.0. Upon arrival, there was an overturned HUMVEE in the center median and a vehicle down an embankment off the right shoulder. Unit 1, a 2018 Dodge Caravan, driven by Operator 1, a 50 year old Schuylkill Haven woman, was traveling north in the left lane when Operator 1 slammed on the brakes because of slow traffic ahead. Unit 2, a 2007 AM General Corp HUMVEE, driven by Operator 2, a 53 year old Lebanon man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 22 year old Ephrata man, and Unit 3, a 2007 AM General Corp HUMVEE, driven by Operator 3, a 43 year old Devon man, accompanied by Passenger 2, a 19 year old Harrisburg man, were both PA National Guard HUMVEEs that were struck by Unit 1 when Operator 1 lost control of the vehicle, causing Unit 3 to lose control and rolled over in the center median, and causing Unit 2 to leave the roadway on the right shoulder, along with Unit 1. No injuries were reported from the crash. I 81 North was partially closed for three hours. Assisted on scene by Northern Lebanon Fire Company, Motter’s Towing, and PA National Guard. PSP troopers are investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2020 at approximately 2:47 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to a reportable crash on I 81 South at mile marker 83. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2005 Toyota Prius, driven by Operator 1, a 25 year old New Bethlehem man, and Unit 2, a 2019 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Operator 2, Charles Palmer, a 52 year old Altoona man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 38 year old Allentown woman, were both traveling south in the left lane of I 81 when Unit 2 was rear-ended by Unit 1. PSP Jonestown troopers observed physical evidence that indicated Unit 1 rear-ended Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to the entire front end of the vehicle. Unit 2 sustained disabling damage to the entire rear end of the vehicle. Unit 1 had tires that appeared to have limited tread life. I 81 South is a state highway that travels north and south with lanes approximately 11 feet in width. At the area of the crash, I 81 South has a dashed white line, fog lines, and rumble strips. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 both had suspected serious injuries and were transported via Lifeline Medical SVCS to the Hershey Medical Center.

Vehicle Accident – On July 14, 2020 at 12:34 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2010 Honda Pilot, driven by Operator 1, 48 year old Harrisburg man, was attempting to make a U-turn from the southbound lanes of SR 934 in the area of Harper’s Tavern. Unit 2, a 2016 Peterbilt Dump, driven by Operator 2, a 59 year old Lavelle man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 4 year old Harrisburg male, and Passenger 2, a 2 year old Harrisburg male, was traveling south on SR 934 in the left lane. Unit 1’s front end struck the right side saddle fuel tank and 2nd axle of Unit 2 as Unit 2 attempted to swerve to the left to avoid impact. After initial impact, Unit 1 came to final rest facing south with its front end in the left northbound lane of SR 934 and its rear in the left southbound lane of SR 934. Unit 2 came to final rest along the right southbound shoulder of SR 934 at its intersection with Jonestown Rd. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted at the scene by Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire Department, Lebanon County Emergency Management, Porrini’s Towing, and Hammer’s Towing.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 12, 2020 at 5:44 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Operator 1, a 48 year old Lebanon man, was traveling north on SR 897. Operator 1, for an unknown reason, veered off the roadway via the north shoulder. Unit 1 traveled northwest approximately 15 feet before hitting a utility pole with its 12 o’clock position. Upon impact, Unit 1 continued in a northwest direction, hitting a second utility pole before re-entering the roadway, where it came to its position of final rest, in the northbound travel lane. Unit 1 sustained front-end damage. Operator 1 was wearing a seatbelt when this crash occurred. Unit 1’s front airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Operator 1 initially reported no injuries but was subsequently taken to Hershey Medical Center for further treatment after displaying signs of a medical emergency. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Schaefferstown Fire Company, Schaefferstown Ambulance, Verizon, and Gilles Miller Towing.

Jackson Township

Harassment – On July 11, 2020 at approximately 10:57 p.m., State Police were requested at Yeagley Rd. for a domestic incident. The investigation revealed that the Arrestee, a 75 year old Myerstown man, had been physical with the Victim, a 71 year old Myerstown woman. The Arrestee was cited appropriately.

Lebanon City

Drug Possession – On July 14, 2020 at 1:42 a.m., this crime occurred on South 10th St. and Elizabeth St. In the commission of this crime, the Suspect was in possession of a controlled substance while operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.

Myerstown Borough

Residential Burglary – On July 9, 2020 at 2:10 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station responded to East Park Ave. for a report of a possible burglary. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined an Actor(s) entered the residence without force and stole money from the Victim. The Victim was a 64 year old Myerstown man. This investigation is ongoing.

North Cornwall Township

Fleeing Or Attempting To Elude An Officer, DUI – On May 25, 2020 at 11:04 p.m., Vivian Scott, a 32 year old Lebanon resident, was stopped for excessive speed on the 2,100 block of Cumberland St., failing to stop for a red steady signal on South 16th St. and Chestnut St., and a stop sign on 16th St. and Walnut St. Scott was charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude an Officer, DUI (BAC 0.185%), Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages (open container), and several traffic violations.

North Lebanon Township

DUI – Angel Gomez-Rohena, a 64 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after a traffic accident that occurred in the 1,300 block of North 7th St. on May 31, 2020.

Theft Of A Motor Vehicle, Indecent Exposure, Disorderly Conduct – Carlos Matos, a 42 year old Philadelphia resident, was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Indecent Exposure, Open Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct, and Driving Without a License after an incident that occurred on the 00 block of East Kercher Ave. on July 11, 2020.

DUI, Accidents Involving Damage To Unattended Property – Dominic Garcia, a 27 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Property after a traffic accident on July 11, 2020 in the 1,700 block of Jay St.

Loitering And Prowling, Criminal Trespass – Quasir Williams, a 21 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Loitering and Prowling and Criminal Trespass after an incident that occurred on July 10, 2020 in the 500 block of Weavertown Rd.

North Londonderry Township

Retail Theft – North Londonderry Twp. police department filed charges against a 32 year old Annville woman for her involvement in an incident that occurred at Walmart, located at 100 N. Londonderry Sq., Palmyra, on July 10, 2020 at 2:55 p.m. Kline concealed a total of seven items valued at $109.16 inside of her pocketbook and attempted to leave Walmart without paying for the concealed merchandise. A non-traffic citation for Retail Theft was filed against Kline.

Richland Borough

Vehicle Accident – On July 11, 2020 at approximately 9:25 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to a reported crash on the 100 block of Poplar St., near Church St. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 Ford F350, was towing farm equipment and didn’t account for the width of the equipment, resulting in the equipment striking Unit 2, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, in the top left corner of the cab and shattering the rear glass window. PSP troopers observed physical evidence that indicated Unit 1’s farm equipment had struck Unit 2. Unit 1 did not sustain any damage as a result of this crash. Unit 2 sustained functional damage to the top left corner of the cab and the rear window. Poplar St. is a local road that travels north and south with lanes, approximately, 11 feet in width. Poplar St. has a double yellow line, no fog lines, and no rumble strips. On July 11, 2020 at approximately 9:35 a.m., PSP troopers interviewed Operator 1 at the scene. Operator 1 stated that he was traveling south on Poplar St., towing a trailer with a piece of farm equipment. Operator 1 related, as he passed Unit 2’s location, he didn’t account for how wide the equipment was, resulting in the equipment striking Unit 2. Operator 1 further related that he’s towed that particular equipment many times in the past and just had a mental lapse. On July 11, 2020 at approximately 9:40 a.m., PSP troopers interviewed the Owner of Unit 2. The Owner stated that he had his vehicle legally parked in the southbound lane of Poplar St. and was inside the residence when the crash occurred. The Owner of Unit 2 did not observe the crash.

South Londonderry Township

Drug Possession – Benjamin Clary, an 18 year old Palmyra resident, was charged with Possession of Marijuana following a traffic stop on June 25, 2020 at 12:41 a.m on Route 322 and Hinkle Rd. South Londonderry’s Police K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Police then found a bag of marijuana hidden in the car.

Public Drunkenness – A 27 year old Annville man was charged with Public Intoxication following an incident on July 3, 2020 at 5:39 p.m. in the 2,900 block of Horseshoe Pk. A caller reported seeing him almost fall into traffic on Route 322. When police found him, he was staggering down the side of Route 322. Police were again called to deal with the man a little while later when he was found in the 2,800 block of Horseshoe Pk., still under the influence of alcohol.

Unauthorized Use Of Automobile, Driving While Suspended – On May 3, 2020 at 1:20 a.m., Chad Kleinfelter, a 34 year old Palmyra resident, was charged with Unauthorized Use of Automobile and Driving While Suspended after he took his father’s vehicle without his permission from the 00 block of My Way Dr. Chad later crashed the vehicle in Annville Twp. on Route 422. Annville Twp. police investigated the crash.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2020 at 7:29 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1995 Audi Quattro, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Lebanon man, was traveling west on Greble Rd. near its intersection with Alspaugh Ln. Unit 1 approached a slight left curve and subsequently struck a utility pole on the north shoulder. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by H & S Towing. Operator 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. However, Operator 1 was transported via Penn State Life Lion to Good Samaritan Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 11, 2020 at 2:15 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2018 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 2, a 20 year old Scranton man, was traveling in the left lane of I 81 South near mile marker 87.2. Unit 1, a 2017 Volvo VNL 760, driven by Operator 1, a 36 year old College Park, GA man, was approaching this location. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 from the rear, then struck the guide rail along the east shoulder. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to the front from striking the guide rail. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, a 21 year old Scranton woman, and Passenger 2, a 20 year old Scranton man, reported no injuries as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On July 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., this single commercial vehicle crash occurred on I 78 West at mile marker 0.7. Unit 1, a 2007 International Harvester Spare 91I, driven by Operator 1, a 56 year old West Columbia, SC man, was traversing west in the left lane when it noticed a backlog of traffic and attempted to change lanes. When Unit 1 changed from the left lane to the right lane, Operator 1 lost control of the commercial vehicle and exited the right side of the roadway. Unit 1 went downwards and hit an embankment and jackknifed the commercial vehicle. Operator 1 was stuck inside Unit 1 upon PSP arrival. Operator 1 was freed from the truck cabin by non-mechanical means. Operator 1 suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Hershey Medical Center. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage. I 78 West was closed for approximately two hours and traffic was detoured. Assisted on scene by Northern Lebanon Fire Company, First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon, County of Lebanon Special Operations, and Bethel Truck Service.

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2020 at 5:23 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 1, a 38 year old Allentown woman, Unit 2, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 2, a 32 year old Bloomsburg woman, and Unit 3, a 2019 Freightliner of an unknown model, driven by Operator 3, a 54 year old Shippensburg man, were traveling southbound on I 81. Unit 1 was trailing Unit 2 in the right-hand lane. Unit 3 was parked on the north shoulder, just ahead of Unit 2 when this crash occurred. Unit 2 was slowing down for traffic conditions ahead. Unit 1 lost visual of Unit 2 due to heavy rain, causing Unit 1 to rear-end Unit 2. Upon initial impact, Unit 1 veered into the north shoulder where it rear-ended Unit 3 before coming to its position of final rest. Unit 2 was sent forward where it came to its position of final rest in the right-hand travel lane. Unit 3 remained parked on the north shoulder where the secondary impact occurred. All Operators were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. No airbags were deployed as a result of the crash. Operator 3 reported injuries during this crash and was transported to Hershey Medical Center for further evaluation. Unit 1 was towed by H & S Towing. Unit 2 and Unit 3 were driven from the scene. Troopers of PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Life Lion Ambulance, Lebanon County Fire/Police, and H & S Towing.

Vehicle Accident – On July 2, 2020 at 4:20 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Operator 1, a 24 year old Lebanon woman, was preparing to cross over/through the northbound travel lane of SR 72. Unit 2, a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 2, a 30 year old Annville man, was traveling north on SR 72, in the left-hand turning lane. Unit 1 pulled out from the traffic way across the northbound lane of SR 72, and directly into the path of northbound Unit 2, where impact occurred between the front end of Unit 1 and the front passenger’s side of Unit 2. After impact, Unit 2 was forced into the southbound travel lane, where it came to its position of final rest facing a northwest direction. Unit 1 came to its position of final rest where initial impact occurred. All Operators were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and no injuries were reported. Unit 1 was driven from the scene. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Troopers of PSP Jonestown were assisted on scene by Joe May’s Towing and Jonestown Fire/Police.

DUI – On July 12, 2020 at 6:37 p.m., on I 78 East, PSP Jonestown troopers received two complaints involving an erratic driver. A traffic stop was initiated on the Operator, a 44 year old man, driving a 2003 Ford Explorer, for a traffic violation. Through an investigation, the Operator was determined to be Driving Under the Influence and was subsequently arrested.

Vehicle Accident – On July 12, 2020 at approximately 4:27 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the area of I 81 South near mile marker 86.5 for a report of a vehicle being struck during roadwork. This crash occurred as workers were conducting a repair on a guide rail and a piece of material broke free and struck Unit 1, a 2016 Dodge 1500, as it was passing by. Troopers observed physical evidence that indicated Unit 1 was struck by an object. Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the front end, specifically the bumper area. I 81 South is a state highway that travels north and south with lanes approximately 11 feet in width. I 81 South has a dashed white lane, fog lines, and rumble strips. On July 12, 2020 at approximately 4:30 p.m., troopers interviewed Operator 1 at the scene. Operator 1 stated that he was traveling south in the left lane of I 81 when an object struck the front of the vehicle. Operator 1 related that the object came from an adjacent road crew that was working on the steel guide rail fencing.

DUI – On July 11, 2020 at 2:04 a.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on SR 72 and Huckleberry Rd. The Operator, Thomas Meck, a 31 year old Lewistown man, of Unit 1, a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Appropriate charges have been filed.

West Cornwall Township

Ordinance Violation – A 41 year old Hummelstown man, a 50 year old Lancaster man, and a 49 year old Reading man have been cited for violating the Lebanon County Parks Ordinance on July 11, 2020 at 1:20 p.m., at Clarence Schock Memorial Park at Governor Dick. The men were cited after being apprehended by the Park Ranger for mountain biking on a posted “foot travel only” trail.

DUI, Careless Driving, Failure To Have Insurace – Antoine Benson, a 43 year old Annville resident, has been charged with Driving Under the Influence for an incident on March 19, 2020 at 1:32 a.m., on Butler Rd., south of Starner Rd. He is also charged with Careless Driving and Failure to Have Insurance.
