As of Oct. 10, 40 Lebanon County businesses hurt by the coronavirus pandemic had received $690,000 in COVID-19 Relief Small Business Assistance Grants through the Pennsylvania Community Development Financial Institutions Network (CDFI).
The grants range from $5,000 to $50,000.
Statewide, $225 million of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act money is being funneled through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to the CDFI Network, which hands out the grants directly to small businesses needing relief.
These grants are separate from the $12.8 million of CARES Act money received by Lebanon County pursuant to an August settlement reached with the administration of Governor Thomas Wolf.
CDFI is a public-private partnership between the federal government and local financial institutions. The CDFI serving Lebanon County is Community First Fund of Lancaster & Lebanon Counties.
