The Salvation Army of Lebanon selected Social Services Coordinator Yolanda Santos as its 2021 Hero of Hope.

Santos was selected largely due to the work she has put in during the pandemic to support the Salvation Army’s mission. According to a Salvation Army of Lebanon Facebook post, Santos coordinated the delivery of emergency food and senior boxes to senior citizens who couldn’t attend in-person events.

“Without Yolanda’s passion and dedication to supporting her local community and helping struggling neighbors to get back on their feet, The Salvation Army would not have been able to serve the region and country in the way that it has over the last year,” said Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Lt. Col. Larry Ashcraft in a May 12 press release. “It’s our Heroes of Hope who are helping us carry our mission of serving our neighbors, even as we enter a new normal.”

The Salvation Army hosts a variety of programs including providing housing, combating addiction, supporting older adults, and more. For more information or to donate, visit its website here.
