Cornwall Borough

Deer Struck – A 26 year old Lebanon woman struck a deer on July 15, 2021 at 9:44 p.m. on SR 72 Northbound, just before Maple Ave. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

East Hanover Township

Unauthorized Use Of Motor Vehicle – On July 19, 2021 at 10:37 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Lincoln School Rd. for a report of an 11 year old juvenile taking their parents’ car without their consent. The Victims were a 59 year old Jonestown woman and a 62 year old Jonestown man. PSP is investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On July 16, 2021 at 4:24 p.m., this crash occurred on Gravel Hill Rd. at its intersection with Pine Rd. The crash involved Unit 1, a 1999 Buick Century, driven by Operator 1, an 87 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, an 89 year old Lebanon man, and Unit 2, a 2017 Toyota Corolla, driven by Operator 2, a 31 year old Grantville man. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 reported suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and were transported via Life Lion for further evaluation. Operator 2 reported suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash but was not transported. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Vehicle Accident – On July 15, 2021 at 2:17 p.m., this reportable crash occurred at Allentown Blvd. (SR 22) at its intersection with Lincoln School Rd. in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1, a burgundy 2016 Cadillac ATS, driven by Operator 1, a 22 year old Marysville man, was traveling west in the right lane of SR 22. Unit 1 traversed off of the right shoulder of the roadway and continued westbound into the parking lot of Hoerner’s Service Station, where Unit 1 sideswiped Unit 2, a white 2015 Chevrolet CK 2500, driven by Operator 2, legally parked in a parking spot. Unit 3, a 2013 Ford Mustang, driven by Operator 3, and Unit 4, a 2021 Ford F150, driven by Operator 4, were also involved. Operator 1 reported suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 1 was cited for Careless Driving.

Vehicle Accident – On July 17, 2021 at 4:59 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2004 Harley-Davidson Motor Co. Electra Glide Ultra, driven by Operator 1, a 60 year old Allentown man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 53 year old Allentown woman, was traveling southbound on I 81 near mile marker 81.6. Unit 1 was traveling in the righthand lane when this crash occurred. Unit 1’s tires lost contact with the wet road surface, causing Operator 1 to lose control of Unit 1. Unit 1, a motorcycle, fell onto its left side, causing Operator 1 and Passenger 1 to be separated from Unit 1. Upon impact, Unit 1 continued in a south direction, where it came to its position of final rest in the righthand travel lane of I 81. Unit 1 sustained damage to the left side. Operator 1 was not wearing a helmet or eye protection when this crash occurred. Passenger 1 was wearing a helmet and eye protection. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 both sustained suspected serious injuries and were transported via Life Lion and South Central to the Hershey Medical Center for further medical treatment. Through further investigation, Operator 1 did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Cpl. Winnberg, Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire Department, Northern Lebanon Fire Department, Life Lion EMS, South Central EMS, and Joe May’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Learners’ Permits.

Vehicle Accident – On July 17, 2021 at 7:54 p.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Dodge Challenger, driven by Operator 1, a 34 year old Coal Twp. man, was traveling south on I 81 at mile marker 84.5 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1 was traveling in the left lane and, when Operator 1 attempted to switch to the right lane, he lost control of Unit 1. Unit 1 traveled across both lanes and into the center median. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 1 struck the center median guide rail. Unit 1 traveled further south into the center median and struck the embankment before coming to final rest, facing southwest. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash, and Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Firearm Not To Possess – On July 17, 2021 at approximately 5:01 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the 800 block of I 81 Southbound near mile marker 81.6. While on scene, troopers recovered a firearm and marijuana from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the Operator of the motorcycle was found to be a felon and not to possess firearms. Charges were filed within MDJ 52-3-04. The Arrestee was a 60 year old Allentown man.

Identity Theft – On July 15, 2021 at approximately 4:27 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 00 block of Lincoln School Rd. in East Hanover Twp. for identity theft. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-973585. The Victim was a 47 year old Jonestown man. The stolen property included Identity.

Heidelberg Township

Theft – On Dec. 4, 2020 sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Albright Rd. for a report of a theft. The Suspect utilized a credit card, using the Victim’s personal information, and made fraudulent purchases. The Victim was a Lakewood, NJ man. Investigation is ongoing.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – On July 14, 2021 at 9:38 a.m., the Victim, a 46 year old Myerstown man, arrived at PSP Jonestown to report that his identity was used to file a fraudulent unemployment claim. The Victim related that on July 14, 2021 he was contacted by his HR department at the PA Department of Corrections and that an unemployment claim was filed using his personal identifying information. The Victim related that his HR denied the claim immediately and he did not suffer any monetary loss. The Victim related that he was going to process a claim through the PA Department of Labor and Industry. The Victim was provided with a Victim/Witness Assistance Guide. All information shall be forwarded to Syreeta Scott, U.S. Department of Labor. The stolen property included the Victim’s Identity.

Harassment – On July 17, 2021 at 11:30 p.m., this incident occurred on Yeagley Rd. In the commission of this crime, the Victim was punched in the face by the Arrestee, causing a bruise. The Arrestee was a 55 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was a 51 year old Myerstown woman.

DUI – On July 7, 2021 at 2:55 a.m., this incident occurred on South College St. and Grumbine Rd. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee operated a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. The vehicles involved included a 2006 Toyota Corolla.

Union Township

Drug Possession – On July 2, 2021 at 6:48 p.m., this incident occurred on SR 72 and Allentown Blvd. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee was in possession of a controlled substance. The Arrestee was a 21 year old Annville man. The vehicles involved included a 2006 Toyota Van Container Trailer.

West Cornwall Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 15, 2021 at 4:17 p.m., this crash occurred in the area of the 2,300 block of Quentin Rd. The vehicle driven by a 20 year old Lebanon man, was stopped in traffic and a vehicle driven by a 19 year old Lebanon woman did not stop in time and collided with the rear of the man’s vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
