Editor’s Note: This past July, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valleyโ€™s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appรฉtit!

This week we took a break from the normal lunch break and tried something one would not normally equate with lunchtime. Iโ€™m not always one to go the healthy route, or even an unconventional choice.

Nestled in downtown Annville, we stopped by Health Check Juice Bar.

Today we ordered a Red Dragon bowl ($9.75), containing pitaya, banana and coconut blended with almond milk and topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, raspberries coconut shavings and chia seeds.

A Red Dragon Bowl.

This bowl is a tasty treat on a hot day; a smoothie on the bottom paired with a generous quantity of fruits on top. It offers a chance to experience a lovely blend of the natural flavors that pairs well with the coconut finish. Personally, Iโ€™m not a fan of coconut but the subtle flavor even allowed for my tastebuds to enjoy.

We also ordered a Minty Spicy Mint Zinger ($8.00). This is a cucumber, celery, apple, lime, and mint drink that is not short on spice. I reluctantly shared this drink with my wife because it was too good. Pro tip, add some water when there is a little bit left and shake vigorously; makes for a nice โ€œsecond drink.โ€ Also, if you have a cold or stuffed up, it will open you up.

Our take: If you are not familiar with juice bars this menu can feel a little intimidating. Just ask an employee to help with your selection, they are great for this. The prices may seem high for a juice drink, but you will love what you get, and your body too.
