DUI Crash – On Aug. 28, 2021 at 3:53 a.m., this crime occurred on I 78 East as the Suspect crashed a vehicle while driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The vehicles involved included a 2012 Acura TL.
Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 28, 2021 at 3:53 a.m., this crash occurred on I 78 near mile marker 4.1 in Bethel Twp. Unit 1, a 2012 Acura TL, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Reading man, accompanied by Passenger 1, an 18 year old Reading man, Passenger 2, a 20 year old Reading man, Passenger 3, a 19 year old Temple man, and Passenger 4, a 17 year old Reading male, was traveling east on I 78 when it left the roadway on the right side. Unit 1 traveled up an embankment, before rolling over. Unit 1 ended at final rest on the roof in the right eastbound lane of travel, facing west. Operator 1 and Passenger 4 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Passenger 1, Passenger 2, and Passenger 3 were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Passenger 2, and Passenger 4 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and were transported via Life Lion to Reading Hospital. Passenger 3 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to Reading Hospital. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Theft Disposition Of Funds – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 11:55 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station responded to Melanie Dr. for a report of theft. Upon arrival, it was determined that the Victim’s unemployment account was compromised and an unemployment check was sent to a fraudulent bank account. This investigation is ongoing. The victim was a 46 year old Fredericksburg woman.
Theft – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 6:31 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station responded to Chestnut Hill Rd. for a report of theft. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown Actor(s) stole numerous power tools. The Actor(s) fled in an unknown direction by unknown means. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown station. The stolen property included an STH Miller Max Star “STH,” valued at $2,200.00, an STL Miller Max Star “STL,” valued at $1,500.00, a Milwaukee 4 In. Power Grinder, valued at $150.00, and a Milwaukee Porta Saw, valued at $300.00.
East Hanover Township
Multiple Vehicle Accidents – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and ongoing, multiple crashes occurred on I 81 Southbound near mile marker 86.8 in East Hanover Twp. PSP Jonestown is investigating multiple crashes on I 81, due to inclement weather. I 81 Southbound traffic is being diverted by PennDOT off of exit 90, due to a tractor-trailer rollover crash blocking the lanes of travel. I 81 is closed Southbound near mile marker 90. No fatalities occurred as a result of these crashes. Injuries and their severity as a result of these crashes remain unknown. There are other ongoing crash investigations happening in both Northbound and Southbound lanes of I 81 between mile markers 85 and 90 at this time.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 5:50 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2002 Nissan X-Terra, driven by Operator 1, a 43 year old Annville man, was backing out of the driveway for the residence on the 10,700 block of Jonestown Rd. Unit 2, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 2, a 28 year old Lebanon man, was traveling westbound on Jonestown Rd. Unit 1 backed out of the driveway and directly into the path of westbound Unit 2, where impact occurred between the front end of Unit 1 and the front driver’s side of Unit 2. Unit 1 came to its position of final rest in the westbound travel lane, where impact occurred. After impact, Unit 2 continued in a west direction, before coming to its position of final rest, partially on the south shoulder and eastbound travel lane. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by Porrini’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Sverchek, Trooper Gutsie, and Porrini’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Vehicle Entering or Crossing Roadway. Operator 2 was cited for Drivers Required to be Licensed.
Heidelberg Township
Identity Theft – This incident occurred on Aug. 31, 2021 at 7:07 p.m. on SR 897 East as the Victim received unemployment claim information in the mail and hadn’t applied for such since Oct. 2020, indicating that an unknown Actor(s) made a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim in his name, using his personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, etc.). According to the Victim, he received no financial loss due to this incident. The Victim was going to be in the process of filing an Identity Theft report through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industries as required. The Victim was further advised to obtain a copy of his credit report as well as a record of his bank accounts to determine if there were any discrepancies. On Aug. 31, 2021, all information regarding this incident was forwarded to Agent Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Office of Inspector General – Department of Labor via email. The Victim was a 68 year old Newmanstown man. The stolen property included Personal Identity Information.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 8:01 a.m., this crash occurred on SR 501 approximately 1/4 mile north of its intersection with Locust St. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 1, a 43 year old Manheim woman, was traveling north on SR 501, negotiating a righthand curve. Unit 2, a 2006 General Motors Corp Savana, driven by Operator 2, a 33 year old Myerstown man, was traveling south on SR 501. Unit 1 crossed into the southbound lane of travel, striking Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Unit 2 sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene by Operator 2. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Neither Operator 1 nor Operator 2 reported any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.
Firearm Discharged Into Occupied Building – On Aug. 31, 2021 at 10:20 p.m., at South Carpenter St., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to a report of shots fired into an occupied structure on South Carpenter St. Upon arrival, troopers determined that the Victim’s residence was struck by several rounds. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no current danger to the general public. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. The Victims were a 45 year old Schaefferstown man and a 25 year old Schaefferstown man. Investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 2, 2021 at 3:19 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2020 Mazda CX30, driven by Operator 1, a 37 year old Lititz man, was traveling eastbound on West Main St., nearing its intersection with North Market St. Unit 2, a 2008 Kia Sedona, driven by Operator 2, a 25 year old Newmanstown woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 20 year old Newmanstown man, was traveling west on East Main St. Unit 3, a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Operator 3, a 25 year old Kleinfeltersville man, was stopped at the stop sign on North Market St. Operator 1 proceeded to make a lefthand turn onto North Market St. without clearance, and, in doing so, hit Unit 2, where impact occurred between the passenger’s side of Unit 1 and the front end of Unit 2. After impact, Unit 1 was forced in a northwest direction, where it struck Unit 3 in the front driver’s side, and it came to its position of final rest, where secondary impact occurred. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Operator 3 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Unit 2’s front driver’s side and passenger’s side airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 did sustain suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and were transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Good Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Unit 1 and Unit 3 were driven from the scene by their respective Operators. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Gutsie, Schaefferstown Ambulance, and CJ Wagner’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Vehicle Turning Left.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 4, 2021 at 7:19 p.m., this reportable crash occurred at West Main St., just west of its intersection with Carpenter St. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, a white 2003 Honda Civic, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Lancaster man, was traveling west on West Main St., when it struck the rear end of Unit 2, a black 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, a 19 year old New Holland man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 19 year old Denver woman, which was stopped for traffic at the traffic light. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 1 struck the rear bumper of Unit 2. Unit 1 and Unit 2 both came to final rest on the right shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 was disabled from the crash and was towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.
Jackson Township
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 3, 2021 at 10:29 a.m., this crash occurred on West Lincoln Ave. at its intersection with North Ramona Rd. This crash involved Operator 1, a 62 year old Myerstown man, Operator 2, a 39 year old Myerstown man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 6 year old Myerstown male, and Passenger 2, an 8 year old Myerstown male. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Passenger did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
Myerstown Borough
Burglary Residential Force – On Aug. 23, 2021 at 5:46 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 00 block of West Main Ave. in Myerstown Boro. for a report of theft. Upon arrival, troopers met with the Victim who reported that on the above-listed date and time, an unknown Actor(s) broke a window, made entry into the property through a rear window, and removed numerous items from within. This property was last known to be secure on Aug. 15, 2021 and the theft was discovered on Aug. 20, 2021. The Actor(s) fled by unknown means in an unknown direction of travel. The stolen property included a 1950s Metal Pedal Dump Truck, valued at $300.00, a 1950s Metal Pedal Tractor, valued at $200.00, a 1950 Plastic Train Locomotive, valued at $50.00, a Miniature Toy Woodworking Shop, valued at $200.00, a Major Matt Mason Toy Collection, valued at $1,000.00, a Miniature Steam Engine, valued at $300.00, a 1950s AMF Roadmaster Biker, valued at $200.00, a 1950s Plastic Rocking Horse With Spring-Mounted Wooden Base, valued at $100.00, a Metal Garden Flamingo, valued at $25.00, and a Sears/Craftsman Electric Drill, valued at $10.00.
North Londonderry Township
Disorderly Conduct – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 2:40 p.m., a student became aggressive and threatening in the Palmyra High School, located at 1125 Park Dr. in Palmyra, causing the school to be locked down. The actions of the juvenile delayed dismissal for the entire school system. The juvenile was charged with Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was a 16 year old female.
South Lebanon Township
Harassment – On July 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., PSP Jonestown is investigating an incident that occurred on the 700 block of East Walnut St. as an inmate contacting Lebanon County Emergency Communications for no legitimate purpose. The Victim was Lebanon County Communications Center in Lebanon.
South Londonderry Township
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 11:37 p.m., Unit 2, a 2009 VW, driven by Operator 2, a 28 year old Lebanon resident, was rear-ended at the intersection of Rt. 322 and Palmyra Rd. by Unit 1, a 2017 VW, driven by Operator 1, a 23 year old Middletown resident. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash, and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
Swatara Township
Harassment – On Aug. 26, 2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to the area of Arrow Ct. in Swatara Twp. for a neighbor dispute. On arrival, troopers found the Actor/Arrestee had been continually harassing the Victim after being directed to stop earlier in the day by responding troopers. Charges were filed on the Arrestee at Magisterial District Court 52-3-03 for Harassment. The Arrestee was a 58 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 61 year old Jonestown man.
Harassment – On Sept. 4, 2021 at 9:03 p.m., State Police responded to Darkes Rd. for harassment. Through investigation, it was determined that the Arrestee punched the Victim in the head several times. The Arrestee then threw a can opener at the Victim, striking him in the back. An NTC was filed for Summary Harassment. The Arrestee was Ashley Moyer, a 36 year old Jonestown woman. The Victim was a 58 year old Jonestown man.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 11:11 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 Volvo D13, driven by Operator 1, Ridge Bristol, a 33 year old Arcadia, FL man, was traveling south on I 81 near mile marker 92.9. Unit 1 was negotiating a lefthand curve in the roadway, when Unit 1’s tires lost contact with the wet road surface, causing Operator 1 to lose control of Unit 1. Unit 1 veered into the left lane, before exiting the roadway from the east shoulder, where it hit an embankment. Unit 1 came to its position of final rest, where impact occurred. Unit 1 sustained damage to its front-end. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Hatters Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Hatters Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.
Harassment – On Sept. 4, 2021 at 9:04 p.m., State Police responded to Monroe Valley Dr. for harassment. Through investigation, it was determined that a verbal altercation occurred between the Victim and the Arrestee. The altercation turned physical when the Arrestee shoved the Victim and punched him numerous times. An NTC was filed for Summary Harassment. The Arrestee was River Dumez, a 21 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 17 year old Jonestown male.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 27, 2021 at 11:56 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 22 East (Allentown Blvd.) in the area of its intersection with Maple Ln. in Union Twp. Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was traveling in the left lane, and Unit 2, a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, a 24 year old Myerstown man, was traveling in the right lane. As Unit 2 slowed to prepare to turn right onto Maple Ln., Unit 1 merged into the right lane, and Unit 1’s right rear quarter panel struck Unit 2’s left front quarter panel. After initial impact, both Units traveled off of the right edge of SR 22, just east of Maple Ln., and struck a drainage ditch, before returning to the right shoulder of SR 22. Unit 1 then fled the scene and was last seen heading westbound on SR 22. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic. It is unknown whether Operator 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 27, 2021 at 6:14 p.m., this single-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer occurred on I 81 Southbound at mile marker 90.1 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 34 year old Annville man, lost control of Unit 1, a 2017 Kenworth Northwest T680. Unit 1 subsequently left the right shoulder of the highway, struck the embankment, and jackknifed. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by HJ Towing Company. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 9:36 a.m., this reportable crash occurred on I 81 South at mile marker 86.8 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1, a white 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 1, a 43 year old Milford, ME man, was traveling south in the right lane of I 81 and Unit 2, a white 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 2, a 60 year old Allentown man, was traveling south in the left lane. Unit 1 crossed the right fog line, striking the guide rail on the right shoulder. After contact with the guide rail, Unit 1 crossed both lanes of travel, causing Unit 2 to travel off of the roadway. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash but was not transported.

Unit 1, a white 2016 International Harvester 4300 box truck, driven by Operator 1, a 32 year old Lebanon man, was traveling south in the right lane of I 81 and Unit 2, a white 2020 Volvo VL790 tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 2, a 60 year old Knoxville, TN man, was stopped for traffic in the left lane. Unit 1 crossed the center-dotted line and rear-ended Unit 2. After initial impact, Unit 1 and Unit 2 both came to final rest in the left lane, facing south. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 12:53 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 72 North, just south of Penny Ln. in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Mazda 6, driven by Operator 1, a 60 year old Halifax woman, was traveling north on SR 72 North, directly behind Unit 2, a 2019 Ram 1500, driven by Operator 2, a 59 year old Coal Twp. man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 26 year old Shamokin man. Operator 1 was following too closely to Unit 2 and was unable to prevent Unit 1 from striking Unit 2, as Unit 2 slowed for traffic ahead. The front end of Unit 1 subsequently struck the rear end of Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained heavy and disabling front-end damage at the 12 o’clock position and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Unit 2 sustained mild damage to its rear bumper and exhaust at the 6 o’clock position and was able to be driven from the scene in its normal customary manner. Operator 1 was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely and Restraint Systems.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 5:54 p.m., this reportable crash occurred on I 81 Northbound at exit 90 on the off-ramp in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Freightliner of an unknown model, driven by Operator 1, a 47 year old Garland, TX man, was exiting I 81 at exit 90. Operator 1 attempted to slow Unit 1 to negotiate a right curve. Unit 1 continued traveling and began to slide north on the off-ramp. Unit 1 continued to slide, crossing into the grass plain. Unit 1 came to final rest in a jackknifed position, facing southeast, partially blocking the exit ramp. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.
Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Operator 1, a 41 year old Harrisburg man, was traveling in the right lane of I 81 South near mile marker 87 in Union Twp. Unit 2, a 2012 International Harvester Maxstar, driven by Operator 2, a 50 year old Columbia man, approached the rear of Unit 1 in the left lane. Operator 1 subsequently lost control of Unit 1 and the trailing Unit, and struck Unit 2, causing Unit 2 to strike a guide rail and roll into the median. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Cocker’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
