The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank will host a blood drive at the Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company, 2818 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown, on Sunday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

While walk-ins will be accepted, organizers request that donors register in advance to reduce wait time. Registration can be done online or by calling 1-800-771-0059.

All donors will receive a coupon for a “buy one, get one free” large pizza at Papa John’s and two admission vouches Harrisburg Comedy Zone Shows, the event page on Facebook notes.

To be eligible to give blood with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank, you must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 120 pounds and be in good health. Some conditions may also disqualify someone from giving blood, viewable online here.

Donated blood is distributed to individuals who have suffered injuries, are undergoing surgeries or have certain conditions such as severe anemia. For more information on giving blood, read an FAQ from the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank here.
