A 59-year-old male pedestrian from Lebanon was fatally struck by a motor vehicle on the 100 block of East Cumberland Street at 7:11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23.
According to a press release from Lebanon City Police Department, the man was “briskly walking north, mid-block, across East Cumberland Street when he was struck by the vehicle travelling west on East Cumberland Street.”
The man was taken to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, a 78-year-old male from Lebanon, stopped at the scene and assisted police with their investigation, the release said. According to the release, speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
At this time, police are not releasing the name of the driver or the victim, but will continue the investigation along with the Lebanon County Serious Accident Reconstruction Team.
