A 59-year-old male pedestrian from Lebanon was fatally struck by a motor vehicle on the 100 block of East Cumberland Street at 7:11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23.
According to a press release from Lebanon City Police Department, the man was “briskly walking north, mid-block, across East Cumberland Street when he was struck by the vehicle travelling west on East Cumberland Street.”
The man was taken to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, a 78-year-old male from Lebanon, stopped at the scene and assisted police with their investigation, the release said. According to the release, speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
