The Root Beer Barrel, a trail-side stand at the Cornwall trailhead of the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail (LVRT), will hold its last event of the season on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 31.
In addition to the eponymous root beer, LVRT will also have an information tent as well as discounted LVRT merchandise for sale. A bike raffle drawing will also be held at noon.
The barrel itself was originally a similar stand shop selling food and root beer on Route 72 near Mount Gretna, some 50 years ago. It was rebuilt in 2009 for Cornwall by an Eagle Scout and the barrel’s original builder, Bill Schwartz.
