Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 27, 2021 at 5:54 a.m., this crash occurred on Mount Zion Rd., just north of Beagle Rd. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 Saturn Ion, driven by Operator 1, a 55 year old Lebanon man, was traveling north on Mount Zion Rd. Operator 1 was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to negotiate Unit 1 through a right curve in the roadway. Unit 1 subsequently traversed off of the northbound shoulder of Mount Zion Rd. and struck a tree. Unit 1 sustained heavy and disabling damage to its front end at the 12 o’clock position and was towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained injuries, including a concussion and fractured vertebra in his cervical spine, of unknown severity as a result of this crash and was transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 11:55 p.m., this collision occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450, driven by Operator 1, a 38 year old Mechanicsburg man, was traveling on I 81 North in the right lane. Operator 1 attempted to change lanes, where it struck Unit 2, a 2021 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by Operator 2, a 45 year old Pottsville woman, in the rear. After impact, Unit 1 traveled off of the roadway into a grass shoulder into a wooded area, where it struck a culvert. Unit 1 continued to travel until striking a large shrub. After impact, Unit 2 spun off of the right side of the roadway, coming to rest on the grass shoulder. Operator 1 then fled the scene. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained injuries of unknown severity as a result of this crash and was transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. Operator 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 1 was cited for Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle or Property.

Heidelberg Township

Identity Theft – State Police responded to Sheep Hill Rd. for identity theft. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown individual attempted to use the Victim’s personal information to open a bank account on Oct. 4, 2021. The Victim became aware of this when he received a letter in the mail from the bank on approximately Oct. 20, 2021. The fraudulent bank account was terminated by the bank due to it being suspicious in nature. The Victim related that he did not incur any financial loss as a result of this incident. The Victim explained that he contacted the Federal Trade Commission regarding this incident. The Victim related that he obtained credit and fraud monitoring services. The Victim was advised to complete the required fraud form with the Department of Labor and Industry. Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Department of Labor has been advised of this incident via email. The Victim was a 55 year old Newmanstown man. The stolen property included the Victim’s Identity.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – State Police responded to South Fairlane Ave. for identity theft. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown individual attempted to file a claim for unemployment on Sept. 23, 2021, using the Victim’s business as their former employer. The unknown individual never worked for the Victim’s business. The Victim became aware of this incident on Oct. 28, 2021 when he received a letter in the mail regarding this incident. The Victim reported no financial loss as a result of this incident. The Victim was advised to monitor his financial accounts for any suspicious transactions. The Victim was advised of his requirement to report this incident to the Department of Labor and Industry. The Victim was also provided with information on how to report this incident to the Federal Trade Commission. Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Department of Labor has been notified of this incident via email. The Victim was Dale E. Wentling Inc. of Myerstown. The stolen property included the Victim’s Identity.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 4:48 a.m., this collision occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Volkswagen GLI, driven by Operator 1, Triton Fake, an 18 year old Jonestown man, was traveling west on East Main Ave. Unit 2, a 2016 Jeep Compass, was parked on East Main Ave. when Unit 1 drifted off of the roadway, causing Unit 1 to strike Unit 2 in the rear. During the investigation, it was determined that Operator 1 was driving under the influence. Operator 1 was taken to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for a blood test. Operator 1 was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash but was not transported. Charges, including Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, against Operator 1 are pending.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 27, 2021 at 8:49 p.m., Unit 1, a Nissan sedan, driven by Operator 1, a 22 year old Hampstead, MD man, ran a stop sign on Woodridge Dr. at Hinkle Rd. and crossed into the path of Unit 2, a Nissan pickup truck, driven by Operator 2, a 42 year old Hummelstown man, resulting in a crash. Minor injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Duties at Stop Signs.
