Bethel Township
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 20, 2021 at approximately 8:06 a.m., PSP Jonestown investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of East Main St. and South Pine Grove St. in Bethel Twp. This crash involved Unit 1, a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Williamstown man, and Unit 2, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Operator 2, Lisa Lehman, a 44 year old Fredericksburg woman. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 16, 2021 at 8:22 a.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on the 1100 block of Greble Rd. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2005 Saturn Ion, driven by Operator 1, a 34 year old Myerstown man, crossed into the eastbound lane of travel, continued to travel off of the roadway and down an embankment, where it came to final rest in a field. There was no damage to the private property where Unit 1 came to its final rest. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to its right front wheel. Operator 1 fled the scene. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 later related no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 arranged for a private tow for Unit 1. Operator 1 was cited for Immediate Notice of Accident to Police Department and PA VC 3309 and was warned for PA VC 3712(b).
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 28, 2021 at 3:32 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 22 East before the on ramp to I 78 East. This crash involved Unit 1, a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 1, a 27 year old Middletown woman, Unit 2, a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Operator 2, a 53 year old Nazareth woman, and Unit 3, driven by Operator 3, a 33 year old Huntington, NY man. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.
Cleona Borough
Simple Harassment – On Dec. 16, 2021 at 2:15 a.m., this incident occurred on East Pine St. In the commission of this crime, the Suspect pushed his girlfriend. She hit her head, causing physical injury. The Victim was a 23 year old Cleona woman.
Cornwall Borough
DUI – Operator 1, a 42 year old Harrisburg woman, has been charged with Driving Under the Influence as the result of a traffic accident on Nov. 7, 2021 at 1:30 a.m. in the area of SR 72 North at the SR 322 East overpass. Her BAC was .152%.
Deer Struck – Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, a 29 year old Wernersville man, struck a deer on Dec. 16, 2021 at 6:15 p.m. on SR 419 between Willow St. and Cherry St. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained minor damage as a result of this crash but was drivable. The deer fled.
East Hanover Township
Theft – On Dec. 20, 2021 at approximately 8:56 a.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 00 block of Main St. in East Hanover Twp. for a theft that occurred at the Victim’s residence. Upon further investigation, troopers learned that an unknown Actor(s) arrived at the residence between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. While at the residence, the Actor(s) stole a three-foot blow-up Grinch decoration, valued at $22.00. This item was stolen from the front porch of the residence before the Actor(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means. The stolen property included a Blow-Up Grinch Decoration, valued at $22.00.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 17, 2021 at 7:17 p.m., this reportable crash occurred on Allentown Blvd. (US Route 22) Eastbound in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 Honda Pilot, driven by Operator 1, a 45 year old Jonestown man, was traveling east in the right lane, when a deer jumped over the median, traveling south into Unit 1’s travel lane. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 1 struck the deer. Unit 1 came to final rest on the shoulder of Gravel Hill Rd., facing south. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
Heidelberg Township
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 15, 2021 at 12:39 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 501 at its intersection with Cherry Lane Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 1, a 69 year old Lebanon man, was traveling north on SR 501 behind Unit 2, a 2016 Buick Enclave, driven by Operator 2, a 46 year old Lebanon woman. Unit 2 was stopped on SR 501, preparing to make a left turn onto Cherry Lane Rd. Unit 1 rear-ended Unit 2. Unit 1 came to final rest in the northbound lane of SR 501, facing north. Unit 2 came to final rest in a field on the south side of Cherry Lane Rd., facing south. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Good Samaritan Hospital. Operator 2 sustained possible injuries as a result of this crash but was not transported. Unit 1 and Unit 2 sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Gilles Miller. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Lebanon County fire companies and Schaefferstown EMS. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.
Fatal Accident – On Dec. 19, 2021 at 8:20 p.m., this two-vehicle fatal crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Infiniti QX56, driven by Operator 1, a 34 year old Myerstown man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 12 year old Myerstown juvenile female, was traveling south on SR 501 in the vicinity of the 4700 block of Stiegel Pk. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1 entered the northbound lane and struck Unit 2, a 2006 Honda Civic, driven by Operator 2, Arthur Matz, a 50 year old Myerstown man, accompanied by Passenger 2, Jody Matz, a 44 year old Myerstown woman, head-on. It is unknown whether Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Passenger 2 was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained injuries of unknown severity as a result of this crash and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. Passenger 1 sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 2 and Passenger 2 were pronounced dead at the scene. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Schaefferstown Fire Company, Schaefferstown EMS, Lebanon County Coroner, and Joe May’s Towing.
Jackson Township
Identity Theft – On Dec. 17, 2021 at approximately 3:47 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 600 block of West Lincoln Ave. in Jackson Twp. for an identity theft. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. The Victim was a 45 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included an Identity.
Myerstown Borough
Drug Possession – On Dec. 15, 2021 at 9:29 a.m., State Police responded to West Main Ave. at the request of Lebanon County Probation. Upon arrival, members met with Lebanon County Probation officers. It was learned that Lebanon County Probation officers were conducting a search of the Arrestee’s residence, who is currently on probation, when they discovered two smoking devices. Members took the two smoking devices into custody. Charges are to be filed. The Arrestee was a 65 year old Myerstown man.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 20, 2021 at approximately 9:02 a.m., PSP Jonestown investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of West Main Ave. and South Locust St. in Myerstown Boro. This crash involved Unit 1, a 2013 Chevrolet Volt, driven by Operator 1, a 76 year old Myerstown man, and Unit 2, a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, a 40 year old Newmanstown woman. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Lancaster General Hospital. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.
North Londonderry Township
Disorderly Conduct – On Dec. 9, 2021 at 11:45 a.m., police responded to two separate altercations at the Palmyra High School. As a result, five students: a 16 year old juvenile male, a 16 year old juvenile male, a 17 year old juvenile male, a 17 year old juvenile female, and a 17 year old juvenile female, were charged with Disorderly Conduct.
Simple Assault, Harassment, Disorderly Conduct – North Londonderry Twp. Police have charged a 17 year old juvenile female and a 15 year old juvenile female with Simple Assault, Harassment, and two counts of Disorderly Conduct. The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 4, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. on South Railroad St. and Elm St., in which the two females punched, kicked, and pulled the Victim, a 15 year old juvenile female, into the street as she walked home from school.
Harassment, Disorderly Conduct – North Londonderry Twp. Police have cited a 40 year old Palmyra resident, with Harassment and Disorderly Conduct following an incident on Dec. 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Lebanon Valley Family Medicine on the 1400 block of South Forge Rd. in Palmyra, in which he was harassing a female employee in the parking lot while she was seated in her vehicle.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 16, 2021 at 11:46 a.m., this crash occurred on the 1300 block of East Main St. This crash occurred as Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, Jill Russell, a 50 year old Palmyra resident, struck the rear of Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 66 year old Lebanon resident. Unit 2 was then pushed forward into the rear of Unit 3, driven by Operator 3, a 21 year old Palmyra resident. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 2 had to be towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for a traffic violation.
DUI – On Dec. 22, 2021 at 12:07 a.m., police responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 400 block of Campbelltown Rd. This crash occurred as Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, Zachary Granath, a 37 year old Granbury, TX resident, was traveling south on Campbelltown Rd., when he left the roadway, striking a utility pole. Unit 1 sustained major damage as a result of this crash and required towing. Operator 1 was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
South Lebanon Township
Harassment – On Nov. 9, 2021 at 5:45 a.m., the Arrestee, with intent to harass, annoy, or alarm another person, namely the Victim, did strike, shove, kick, or otherwise subject such other person to physical contact, or did attempt or threaten to do the same, in that the Arrestee did head butt the Victim in the chest. The Arrestee was a 34 year old Lebanon man. The Victim was a 26 year old Lebanon man. This incident occurred on the 700 block of East Walnut St. in Lebanon.
Swatara Township
Traffic Violations – On Dec. 16, 2021 at 1:52 a.m., PSP Jonestown attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on SR 72 North for multiple traffic violations. The vehicle fled PSP, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.
DUI – On Dec. 18, 2021 at 12:48 a.m., this incident occurred on Old Route 22 and Old Route 22 East. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The Arrestee was a 66 year old Fredericksburg man. The vehicle involved included a 2012 General Motors Corp. Terrain.
Firearm Found Or Surrendered – On Nov. 27, 2021 at 5:32 p.m., troopers responded to SR 72 North for a report of a found firearm. Upon investigation, the owner was contacted and the handgun was returned to them without incident. The found property included a Taurus Spectrum 380 Handgun.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 20, 2021 at 3:38 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 22 Westbound at its intersection with North Lancaster St. in Swatara Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 Lincoln-Continental MKX, driven by Operator 1, a 44 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 63 year old Jonestown woman, attempted to cross the intersection after stopping at the stop sign and not properly clearing the roadway. Unit 1 subsequently struck the side of Unit 2, a 2017 Ford Escape, driven by Operator 2, a 74 year old Lebanon man, causing both vehicles to lose control. Unit 2 sustained dents and scrapes up its passenger’s side as a result of this crash and was towed from the scene by Martin’s Auto. Unit 1 sustained disabling front end damage as a result of this crash and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were evaluated by EMS on scene and all refused medical treatment. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 12, 2021 at 4:20 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred at the stoplight on Fisher Ave. at its intersection with the I 81 Southbound ramp in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander, driven by Operator 1, a 75 year old Annville man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 74 year old Annville woman, was traveling west on Fisher Ave. and went through a red light while Unit 2, a 2021 Subaru Legacy, driven by Operator 2, a 23 year old Palmyra woman, accompanied by Passenger 2, a 28 year old Pine Grove man, was attempting to cross the lane and head east on Fisher Ave. The front passenger’s side of Unit 1 subsequently struck the front driver’s side of Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained functional front-end damage and Unit 2 sustained disabling front-end damage. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Porrini’s Towing Company. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Traffic-Control Signals.
