Updated Tuesday, March 15, with additional information from police.

A local woman was fatally struck by a westbound Norfolk Southern train Sunday afternoon at the 7th Street crossing in Lebanon.

Lebanon city police were dispatched to the 7th Street crossing shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, for reports of a pedestrian struck by a passing train, according to a press release.

Police said that an initial investigation revealed the woman had been walking south on 7th Street when she attempted to cross the tracks in front of the approaching train, which was westbound on the north set of tracks.

The victim was Tonya Price, a 61-year-old Lebanon woman. Police said that an investigation and witness accounts have led them to believe this was an accident.

Anyone with further information is asked to call police at 717-272-2054.
