LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
The Pet of the Week will sometimes be a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.
This week, we’d like you to meet Buddy Chow, who’s waiting for a home at the Humane Society of Lebanon County.
“This adorable red man is a 7-year-old golden retriever/chow chow mix with a weakness for a fresh tennis ball,” a shelter representative tells us.
“He can have a hard time making new friends, as he has a habit of putting up his walls around strangers,” we learned. “For that reason, he would fit best in a home with no other animals or children, but once he trusts you he will give you every ounce of love that he has. Luckily, that’s where the tennis balls come in, the road to Buddy Chow’s heart is paved with them! The man loves a game of fetch more than the trees love sunshine and that makes for a perfect ice breaker.”
If you are interested in learning more about Buddy Chow or setting up an appointment to meet him, please contact the Humane Society at (717) 628-1369 or visit the shelter online at LebanonHumane.org.
