Bethel Township

DUI – At 10:52 p.m. March 25, a 56-year-old man, whose name was not released, driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 was arrested at Freeport Road and South Pine Grove Street for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Theft By Deception – Sometime between April 4 and 6, a 75-year-old Fredericksburg man was the victim of a scam. The man reported to PSP Jonestown that he was contacted by an unknown person who told him his network was hacked and his bank information was compromised. The victim gave the unknown actor access to his computer and was asked to wire funds to a fraudulent bank account. Police are investigating.

Cornwall Borough

Vehicle Accident – At 11:09 a.m. April 8, a crash occurred on Boyd Street, just north of Iron Valley Drive. A vehicle driven by a man, 22, of Bronx, New York, was traveling north on Boyd Street when it left the road and struck a guide rail. No injuries were reported, according to police. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

Heidelberg Township

DUI – At 12:40 a.m. March 27, a 28-year-old Lititz man was arrested on South 5th Avenue for operating a 2018 GMC Terrain while under the influence of alcohol.

Vehicle Accident – At 10:54 p.m. April 8, a crash occurred on Mountain Trail Road at its intersection with SR 501. A 2015 Ram 1500 was traveling south on SR 501, made a lefthand turn onto Mountain Trail Road and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported, according to police.

Jackson Township

Fatal Accident – At 12:39 p.m. April 14, a two-vehicle crash occurred on West Washington Avenue when a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 500R motorcycle, driven by Zachary Stump, 18, of Myerstown, was traveling east on West Washington Avenue. According to police, a 2018 Subaru Outback driven by Michael McCowan, 65, of Myerstown, accompanied by Deborah McCowan, 69, of Myerstown, proceeded entered West Washington Avenue from the rear parking lot of Horst Signs & Truck Lettering and crossed into the eastbound lane of travel. The Subaru struck the passenger’s side front fender of the motorcycle. Michael and Deborah McCowan were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash; Michael sustained a suspected minor injury and Deborah did not sustain any injuries, police said. Stump was wearing a motorcycle helmet and was transported by Life Flight to Hershey Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Police were assisted on scene by Keystone Hook & Ladder Fire Company and Myerstown EMS.

Indecent Assault – Police are investigating a report of inappropriate contact between two juveniles, including a 3-year-old Myerstown girl, that occurred on March 30 on Eisenhauer Road.

Indecent Assault – Police are investigating a report of inappropriate contact between two juveniles, including a 5-year-old Myerstown girl, on March 22 on Oaken Way.

Jonestown Borough

Sexual Assault – Sometime between 12 a.m. and 6 p.m. March 10, an alleged sexual assault occurred on South Lancaster Street. The victim was a woman, 43, of Lebanon. The investigation is ongoing.

Myerstown Borough

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – At 1:26 p.m. April 4, police responded to North College Street for a report of graffiti in the backyard of a residence. Investigation revealed that sometime between 4 p.m. March 31 and 6:30 p.m. April 1, an unknown person spray-painted graffiti on cement blocks in the backyard near the basement entrance to the home. The victim was a man, 40. Damaged is estimated at $200. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

Palmyra Borough

Theft – At approximately 3 a.m. March 25, an unknown subject removed the catalytic converter from a vehicle parked on the property of Palmyra Area Middle School, 50 W. Cherry St. Images of the suspect and the suspect vehicle appear below. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact Palmyra police at 717-838-8189.

Richland Borough

Suicide Attempt – At 6:14 a.m. March 20, police responded to Judy Lane for a report of a female, 16, who may have ingested bleach. Police are investigating.

South Lebanon Township

False Identification to Law Enforcement – At 8:29 p.m. April 12, police conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Jeep Chrysler on the 2700 block of East Cumberland Street for a traffic violation. Police said the operator, Marcus Rosario, 29, of Lebanon, lied about his identity and was subsequently arrested for false identification to law enforcement. Charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Verna.

Indecent Assault – Police are investigating a report of inappropriate contact among several inmates on Feb. 21 at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility.

Swatara Township

DUI – At 12:11 a.m. April 7, police arrested Abigail Dworniczek, 26, of Lebanon, for driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance on Grace Avenue and Plum Lane.

Union Township

DUI – At 9:48 a.m. March 15, police conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee on SR 72, just south of its intersection with Lickdale Road, after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, indicators of impairment were observed and the driver, a man, 32, of Jonestown, was taken into custody for driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

West Cornwall Township

Vehicle Accident – At 4:18 p.m. April 12, a crash occurred on the 00 block of West Main Street when a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Palmyra man struck the back end of a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Lebanon woman. 

Simple Assault – A man, 85, of Manheim, was cited for two counts of simple assault for his involvement in an incident that occurred March 23 on Maple Avenue. During the incident, a Cornwall police officer and an EMS official were assaulted and treated for injuries.
