Bethel Township
Vehicle Accident – At 12:01 a.m. Oct. 15, a crash occurred on School Drive, just north of its intersection with Airport Road when an unknown vehicle with an unknown driver turned north onto School Drive and exited the right side of the road, striking a fire hydrant. The vehicle then fled the scene of the crash. The extent of the damage to the vehicle is unknown.
Jackson Township
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 9:33 p.m. Oct. 7, a crash occurred on Weavertown Road at its intersection with East Richland Avenue. A 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 19-year-old Richland man failed to negotiate a right turn onto Weavertown Road, struck a fence, traveled up and down an embankment, struck a fence again, and ran into a ditch. The Mitsubishi was disabled in the crash and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Police cited the man with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 8:28 a.m. Sept. 19, a crash occurred on the 400 block of Houtztown Road when a red 2003 Saturn L200 driven by a 31-year-old Annville man was traveling in the right lane when the driver swerved to the left to avoid a dog in the street and the Saturn struck a utility pole before roling onto its side. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. No injuries were reported. Police cited the driver with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Harassment – At 12:18 p.m. Oct. 14, police responded to Quarry Drive for a domestic-related incident. Police determined that a 52-year-old Myerstown man and a 45-year-old Myerstown woman argued over car keys. The altercation turned physical when shoves and slaps were exchanged. NTCs were filed on both parties for summary harassment.
Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 9:10 p.m. Sept. 10, a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta driven by an 18-year-old Denver man accompanied by an 18-year-old Ephrata woman was traveling south on the 900 block of Hilltop Road when the driver failed to negotiate a left curve in the road and struck a tree. Only the Ephrata woman was wearing a seatbelt, and both individuals sustained injuries of unknown severity and were transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to Hershey Medical Center. Police cited the driver with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Millcreek Township
Hit-and-Run, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 4:58 a.m. Oct. 8, a hit-and-run crash occurred on the 100 block of West Bethany Road when a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by an unknown subject was traveling west when they failed to negotiate a right turn and hit a tree. The Nissan had disabling damage done to its front end and had to be towed. The vehicle’s occupants fled the scene.
North Cornwall Township
DUI, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At 1:44 a.m. Sept. 22, police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Rocherty and Quentin roads. Police cited Logan Hockley, 27, of Lebanon, with DUI and driving on roadways laned for traffic. Hockley had a BAC of .137% at the time of the stop.
Theft by Unlawful Taking – At 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19, Tyreka Tillman, 45, of Maryland, attempted to cash a check at Citizens Bank for $2,324.92. Police cited Tillman with theft by unlawful taking with the intent to deprive the owner.
North Londonderry Township
Vehicle Accident, Vehicles Turning Left – At 5:49 p.m. Oct. 17, police responded to a crash that on the 1100 block of West Main Street. A vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Lebanon man was traveling west on SR 422 when a 23-year-old Lebanon woman attempted to turn left into a parking lot. The front of the man’s vehicle struck the rear of the woman’s vehicle, which sustained rear passenger’s side damage and had to be towed. The man’s vehicle sustained front passenger’s side damage but was able to be driven from the scene. No injuries were reported. Police cited the woman with vehicles turning left through MDJ Garver’s office.
Vehicle Accident, Careless Driving – At 5:11 p.m. Oct. 19, police investigated a crash on Old Forge Road and Peach Street in which a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Palmyra man exited the road and struck a tree. The man sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to Hershey Medical Center. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. Palmyra Fire Department and Fire Police assisted on the scene. Police cited the man with careless driving.
Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – At 6:42 a.m. Oct. 20, police responded to the intersection of Plaza Drive and Maple Street for a crash with no reported injuries. A vehicle driven by a 46-year-old Harrisburg man was traveling south on Plaza Drive when a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Palmyra male entered the intersection from the stop sign posted on Maple Street, striking the Harrisburg man’s vehicle. Both vehicles needed to be towed. Police cited the juvenile with stop signs and yield signs.
Palmyra Borough
Public Drunkenness – At about 10:58 a.m. Oct. 7, police responded to the parking lot of Weis Markets, at 901 E. Main St., for a report of a subject who fell and was having trouble walking. Police determined the 68-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol. Life Lion EMS was summoned, and the man was transported from the scene. On Oct. 10, a non-traffic citation was filed with MDJ Garver’s office charging him with public drunkenness.
Endangering Welfare of Children, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child – On Oct. 18, police cited Preston Lareau, 21, with endangering welfare of children, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and indecent assault of a child through MDJ Carl Garver’s office. Charges stem from an incident reported to police on Jan. 14 that occurred on the 00 block of North Lincoln Street and the 00 block of South Lincoln Street.
Drug Possession, Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended – At about 9:10 p.m. Oct. 3, police initiated a traffic stop on a gray Ford station wagon. Police said the driver, James Urban, 30, had a suspended license and was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. On Oct. 10, charges were filed against Urban for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving while operating privilege is suspended, and operating vehicle without valid inspection.
Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle, Duties at Stop Signs – At 11:03 a.m. Sept. 30, police responded to the 00 block of North Railroad Street for reports of a crash. Police arrived on the scene and located the victim’s vehicle with major damage. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. Police determined that the driver of the fleeing vehicle was Kyle Reheard. Charges were filed against Reheard for accidents involving damage to attended vehicle, duty to stop and give info/render aid, duties at stop signs, driving without a license, and learner’s permits-not accompanied.
Attempt to Identify – Police are attempting to identify the pictured male for an incident that occurred on the 100 block of West Main Street at approximately 6:31 p.m. Oct. 6. The subject left in a black crew cab truck with chrome side steps and a hitch. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the subject or his vehicle is asked to contact Palmyra Borough police at 717-838-8188.
South Londonderry Township
Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 5:25 p.m. Oct. 20, police cited a 25-year-old Mohnton man with driving vehicle at safe speed after the UPS van he was driving collided with a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Grantville man who was stopped on South Forge Road, waiting to turn left onto Airport Road. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Swatara Township
Vehicle Accident, DUI – At 5:03 p.m. Oct. 14, a 2015 Mazda CX-5 driven by Mary King, 40, of Jonestown, was traveling north on South Lancaster Street, north of Hickory Street, when King failed to negotiate a left curve in the road and hit several street signs on the right shoulder, causing the Mazda to become disabled. A witness observed King flee the scene and provided a description. When located, King showed signs of impairment. Police cited her with DUI-highest rate of alcohol.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – At 11:46 p.m. Oct. 6, a crash occurred as a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by a 24-year-old Shenandoah man was traveling north on SR 72 and the trailing unit’s front driver’s side tire became dismounted and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 49-year-old Jonestown woman and a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 20-year-old Lebanon woman, who were in the southbound lane. All three vehicles had to be towed. No injuries were reported.
