The Community of Lebanon Association will present the 46th annual Holiday Parade and annual holiday tree lighting ceremony on the weekend of Nov. 18.
The tree lighting will take place on Friday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. Expect to see an appearance at the event by Mrs. Claus, as Santa will be getting ready for the parade the next day, organizers say.
The parade will be livestreamed by ABC-27, with anchors Alicia Richards and Valerie Pritchett serving as emcees. It will begin at Lincoln Avenue and Cumberland Street at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, and make its way to 9th and Cumberland streets.
In case of inclement weather, the parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, instead.
The CLA has numerous volunteer opportunities available, including carrying helium balloons and helping with the lineup.
For more information on volunteering, contact the CLA by emailing cla@lebanoncla.com or calling 717-273-7215.
The registration deadline for the parade is Friday, Nov. 4. Find the application form here (PDF).
Starting Nov. 1, reservations can also be made for carriage rides on Friday, Dec. 2, and Friday, Dec. 9, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The carriage rides leave from South 8th Street in front of the Lebanon Farmers Market, and reservations can be made in advance for a slight upcharge. The carriage rides are sponsored by Garcia Garman & Shea, PC; Steckbeck Engineering & Surveying Inc; and Reilly Wolfson.
The CLA’s year-long sponsors for its holiday events are T-Mobile, Fulton Bank, Domino’s, and Lebanon Family Health Services.
