Bethel Township

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – At approximately 10:45 a.m. Dec. 1, police responded to a residence on Prescott Drive for a report of criminal mischief. Police discovered that a gray metal mailbox, valued at $125, belonging to a 92-year-old Lebanon man had been smashed sometime overnight. There is no video surveillance in the area. Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 8:16 p.m. Nov. 27, a crash occurred on Greble Road at Long Road. A 2017 Ford Focus driven by a 33-year-old Lebanon man was traveling north on Greble Road when he attempted to negotiate a right curve in the road, lost control due to slippery road conditions and struck a concrete bridge on the right side of the road. The Ford sustained heavy front-end damage. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and no injuries were reported. Police cited the driver with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Cleona Borough

Theft of Movable Property – On Sept. 20, police were alerted by the owners of Long Machine and Tool – G Force Transmissions, at 150 N. Grant St., of suspicious activity going on at their company. The owners expressed concern that products were being sold and shipped by the defendant, Paul Long (no relation), 33, of Cleona, and he was keeping all proceeds. Troopers found that, from January to September 2020, approximately 106 packages were shipped using the company’s UPS account without an accompanying invoice, as required by the company. Police also learned that Long was conducting business on the company’s behalf and selling their products while having customers pay him directly to his personal PayPal account. The proceeds from these transactions totaled over $100,000. On Nov. 29, MDJ Ditzler signed and issued an arrest warrant for Long, prepared by the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit, for theft of movable property (felony of the third degree). Police took Long into custody without incident at the company. A preliminary arraignment was held before MDJ Dissinger, and bail was set at $100,000. Long was unable to post bail and subsequently committed to LCCF.

Cornwall Borough

Vehicle Accident – At 5:08 p.m. Nov. 24, a crash occurred in the area of the SR 72 north ramp at SR 322 east. A vehicle driven by a 75-year-old Ephrata man struck the rear end of a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Hummelstown man. No injuries were reported. One of the vehicles was towed from the scene.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – At 5:16 p.m. Nov. 22, a three-vehicle crash occurred when a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado driven by a 17-year-old Newmanstown male was stopped, facing north, on North Market Street at West Main Street. A 2012 Volkswagen Golf driven by a 40-year-old Schaefferstown man was traveling west on West Main Street, east of North Market Street, and a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner driven by a 25-year-old Lititz man, accompanied by a 28-year-old Lititz woman was stopped, facing south, on North Market Street at its intersection with West Main Street. The Chevrolet entered the intersection without proper clearance and was struck on its passenger’s side by the Volkswagen in the intersection. The Chevrolet then struck the Toyota. The Volkswagen and the Toyota were towed from the scene. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported. Police cited the juvenile with stop signs and yield signs.

Jackson Township

Theft – At 2:44 p.m. Nov. 12, police responded to Hilltop Road for a reported theft of pies and money, valued at $50, from a roadside stand. The victim was a 38-year-old Myerstown man. Troopers are investigating.

Jonestown Borough

Vehicle Accident, Following Too Closely – At 10:18 a.m. Nov. 25, a crash occurred when a 2001 Ford Mustang driven by a 21-year-old Annville woman was traveling north on South Lancaster Street, south of West Market Street. A 2020 Ram 1500 driven by a 56-year-old Lebanon woman, accompanied by a 60-year-old Lebanon man was stopped, facing north, on South Lancaster Street at West Market Street. The Ford rear-ended the Ram on the road. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts and no injuries were reported. The Ford was towed from the scene. The North Lebanon Fire and Emergency Services assisted on the scene. Police cited the Annville woman with following too closely.

North Cornwall Township

Assault – At 9:58 a.m. Nov. 22, police responded to the parking lot of Target for a disturbance. Police arrested Eugenio Silva, 58, of East Petersburg, for causing bodily injury to a female.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 11:15 a.m. Nov. 27, police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Forge Road and Londonderry Boulevard. Police met with the driver, a 25-year-old Palmyra man, who reported that he was traveling south on Forge Road when he approached a vehicle that was stopped in the lane, making a left turn. The man reported that braked and his truck began to slide on the wet road. The man reported that to avoid striking the other car, he steered right, which resulted in his truck exiting the lane and striking a fire hydrant and a Met-Ed utility pole. The man reported no injuries. His vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Police cited him for driving vehicle at safe speed.

DUI – At 1:34 a.m. Oct. 29, police cited Karen Courchaine, 53, of Palmyra, with two counts of DUI (DUI-general impairment and DUI-highest rate) following a traffic stop on the 100 block of Gravel Hill Road. Courchaine’s BAC was .203%.

Vehicle Accident, Stop Sign Violation – At 5:07 p.m. Nov. 23, a crash occurred on the 300 block of South Lingle Avenue. A vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Palmyra man struck a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Hershey man. The Palmyra man failed to yield the right of way to the Hershey man before pulling out from a stopped position. No injuries were reported. The Hershey man’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Police cited the Palmyra man with a stop sign violation.

Theft – At 11 a.m. Nov. 29, a woman reported that her wallet was stolen. A man distracted the victim by asking about merchandise prices while a second person opened the victim’s purse and removed the wallet. Walmart surveillance showed a female using the cards at a self-checkout register. The female attempted to purchase gift cards totaling $969.88, but the bank denied the transaction.

At 8:30 a.m. Nov. 30, a victim called the police and reported that he may have been pick-pocketed at Walmart, at 100 North Londonderry Square, on Nov. 29. The victim said a female bumped into him while he shopped. Then, when he went to pay for his merchandise, he noticed that his wallet was missing. The victim’s bank notified him that someone used his card at Walmart on Nov. 29. Walmart video surveillance showed the same female from the previous incident using the victim’s card to purchase gift cards totaling $969.88 and another purchase for $26.44.

The suspects parked a newer white Ford Explorer in a nearby business around 10:34 a.m. Two males and a female got out of the car and walked into Walmart. At 11:04 a.m., they returned to the car and left the area.

Palmyra Borough

Hit-and-Run – At approximately 4:18 p.m. Nov. 26, police responded to a reported hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles in front of the Sheetz in the 800 block of East Main Street. The driver of a white Jeep failed to stop for traffic in front of them and struck a silver Toyota Tundra. The impact forced the Toyota into a maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of the white Jeep fled the scene, heading west on East Main Street (SR 422), then north on North Prince Street. Simple Assault, Harassment – At approximately 5:27 a.m. Nov. 13, police responded to the 00 block of North Chestnut Street for a domestic dispute. Police located a victim with a visible injury. Police later identified the offender as Lance Senseman, 25. Police placed Senseman under arrest for simple assault (domestic violence-related) and harassment and transported him to LCCB for processing.

Bench Warrant, Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended – At 12:15 p.m. Nov. 23, police initiated a traffic stop on the 200 block of North Forge Road. Police identified the driver as Levi Slack, 54, who had a bench warrant out of Lebanon County and was operating with a suspended driver’s license. Police placed Slack under arrest for the warrant and transported him to LCCB. Police issued Slack a citation for driving while operating privilege is suspended.

Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, Harassment – On Nov. 24, police investigated an incident on the 700 block of North Railroad Street. Police determined that Thomas Kegarise, 26, physically assaulted a victim with a deadly weapon. Kegarise fled the residence in a black Hyundai Elantra, displaying PA registration LRJ9596. On Nov. 25, police issued Kegarise a felony arrest warrant. Anyone with any information about Kegarise’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Palmyra Borough police at 717-838-8189.

Simple Assault, Simple Assault Fear of Serious Bodily Injury, Harassment – At 6:20 p.m. Nov. 27, police responded to the 500 block of East Main Street for a domestic dispute. Police observed multiple injuries on two victims. Police identified the offender as Charlene Haldeman, 39, and took Haldeman into custody and transported her to LCCB, where she was arraigned for two counts of simple assault, two counts of simple assault fear of serious bodily injury, and two counts of harassment.

Public Drunkenness – At approximately 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24, an incident occurred on the 00 block of North Penn Street. Police encountered a 55-year-old man who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. He was provided transportation home and issued a non-traffic citation for public drunkenness, a summary offense.

DUI – At 6:15 a.m. Oct. 25, police responded to the 100 block of East Main Street for a reported crash involving a driver who struck a parked car. Police identified the driver as Yadav Timsina, 31. Timsina was visibly intoxicated, and police placed Timsina under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Lab results later showed that Timsina had a BAC of .231%. Charges were filed for DUI-highest rate of alcohol, DUI-general impairment, and two summary traffic violations.

Bench Warrant – At approximately 9:07 a.m. Dec. 2, police initiated a traffic stop on a white Mazda CX-9 on the 700 block of West Main Street. Police determined the driver was Anna Hoover, 33, who had a bench warrant out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear (domestic relations). Police took Hoover into custody on the warrant and transferred her to the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department.

Richland Borough

Hit-and-Run, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At approximately 6:34 a.m. Nov. 28, police responded to the 00 block of West Main Street for a reported hit-and-run crash. A blue 2011 Ford Escape driven by a 33-year-old Richland woman was struck on its rear left side by an unknown vehicle driven by an unknown operator. There was damage to the left rear light and a dent above the light. The driver was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported. Police are investigating, and charges of driving on roadways laned for traffic are pending.
