Penn State Extension is offering ServSafe Food Safety Manager courses in both Spanish and English this spring.

The Spanish course will take place on Thursdays, May 11 and 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., respectively, with the certification exam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 18. Registration for this course closes on May 4.

The English course will take place on Tuesdays, May 2 and 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., respectively, with the certification exam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9. Registration for this course closes on April 25.

Both courses will be held at the Penn State Extension of Lebanon County at 2120 Cornwall Road, Lebanon.

Certified ServSafe instructors will lead the in-person trainings, covering topics such as proper food handling techniques, sanitation, and food service facility cleaning. Participants who pass the multiple-choice exam with a score of 70% or higher will receive a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate, valid for five years.

All instructors hold advanced degrees and have received extensive training in food safety.

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act.
