Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Welcome to the first season of the Lebanon Valley Food Critics’ highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Burger Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Burger in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including presentation and composition of the burger, messiness, and overall impression. To keep things even, we will only judge one burger from each restaurant and all burgers will be cooked to the same temperature, medium.

We continue in the eastern portion of the Valley, along the bustling railroad tracks in the Borough of Richland at Richland Railroad Diner.

This restaurant offers a burger menu with six choices, in addition to its regular menu of breakfast and lunch/dinner options.

Our selection for judgement today was a choice several of our followers have suggested for us, the cowboy burger ($12.99). This burger comes with American cheese, onion rings, BBQ sauce, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. All their burgers are hand-pressed 6 oz patties with the diner’s own seasoning.

The burger comes with the fixings already stacked on the burger. At first glance, it looks intimidating. You can taste the difference in the seasoned patty over others we have tried. This burger will get messy on you right away as they put plenty of toppings and BBQ sauce on this burger. This is a quality burger.

How will this burger stack up against the others? We shall see!

Next up we will travel to our last entrant: Downtown Lounge. After which, we will announce our winner.
