Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
Welcome to the first season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Cheesesteak Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Cheesesteak in The Valley.
We have tried quite a few tasty cheesesteaks. A few thoughts before we announce our winner.
First, the people of the Valley are very passionate and loyal about their favorites. Almost like your favorite beer, it will always be your first choice as the best.
Second, just because a roll comes from Philly, doesn’t necessarily make it a good roll. There are many different quality rolls used throughout the Valley, both made in house and sourced from a bakery.
Third, don’t ever tell me Pat’s, Geno’s or Tony Luke’s is a good cheesesteak. They are just tourist traps.
And finally, there is no wrong way to order or eat a cheesesteak. Whatever your style is, a cheesesteak is one of the great foods in America.
Now, on to our winner. Each cheesesteak we ordered, even though we tried to order them all the same way, each had something unique about them. But in the end, one stood out as having the quality, style, and handle of a Philly staple. We are pleased to declare Stuff’D Steaks our #cheesesteakwars Season 1 winner!
